I HAVE to post this. Grrrrr!!! I have IBS. Sometimes it is a mad dash to the bathroom. Sometimes in the frantic rush to make it in time a thorough or even cursory inspection of the toilet seat is skipped.....I mean it is PANIC TIME, okay? Whip out the paper toilet donut and take care of business.
What makes my BLOOD BOIL is thoughtless people who don't want to touch their little heinderenders to the toilet seat because they think the seats are nasty and so squat over or on the seat itself and spray the seat and floor and then those of us with an EMERGENCY get the special thrill and treat of sitting in their thoughtlessness...ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew!!! (Can you tell this is a very recent experience?) If everyone behaved themselves the bathrooms wouldn't be such a nightmare. And how many people use their foot to flush with? How rude? I use a piece of toilet paper to cover the handle and as the toilet is flushing drop it in the toilet. Then I grab another piece of toilet paper to open the door with. I wash my hands, dry off the area around the sink and use a paper towel to open the door exiting the bathroom. I try be courteous in the bathroom because I detest using public bathrooms. (as I said before: ew ew ew ew ew ew!) But, if we have to use them we ought to think of the other people who are going to use them as well. grrrrrrrrr!!!!

I have dreamed of making little stickers to paste inside every public toilet door in America, that say "If you're going to pee all over the seat, please clean up after yourself. Or do you pee all over the bathroom in your home too?" [Eek!] [Mad]

Add to that list the people who don't flush at all. And this would be because? I want to follow them out of the restroom and shout "Hey, see this person? They don't flush!"

And also the women who go in one stall, and let their two little (under the page of 5) darlings go in another one while there is a line of 10 women waiting to go. Oh I'm not saying they shouldn't go, but 9 times out of ten, these little snots are playing, stopping up the toliet and doing other things while Mamma is standing at the mirror checking for wrinkles and gray hairs...all of which I hope she gets. All I ask is that they pay attention to their children. Is that so much? And NO, I don't think it's funny when they take their children in the stall with them, and they peek underneath the stall to look at you. Puleaasee

Well ladies, you can rest assured that here in Vegas where every restroom has an attendant it isn't like that at least not in the Casinos for the most part. However we do have other restaurants and K-Marts, Wal-Marts etc where the women (for shame) are pigs too. These are women we're talking about, mothers and wives, sisters and daughters that seem to lose their minds when out in public (well almost.) Makes one wonder what the mens restrooms are like since most of them are pigs at home. Lala you may as well get use to it because thats the way it is, sad but true. Been there and experienced that. I carry my own paper, towelettes and yes spray for those extra smelly people next door. What a topic, huh? Kick the darn brat JJ... [Wink]

Only at bws.com will you find a conversation like this one! What a riot.....okay I confess, I too have public toilet issues....I too have struggled w/ IBS all my life, thus toilet issues....and I am horrified that after living my childhood w/ 5 apparently crosseyed, knock-kneed boys who spray everywhere but the center...I have toiletphobia!
I also have peeinthewoodsphobia....I can't camp because I might have to use A. a spot a poop, B. a public restroom or C. the bushes.....none are options for me...I'd have to hold it for a week!
Oh and then there are airplane, bus or train toilets....where does it go....am I polluting....willl a stray bird look up my fanny?
As Sher is now our resident OCD queen, I'd like her perspective on this.

Good points on bathroom behavior! Cleanliness or lack of, is what I detest in public restrooms.

Not washing hands after using the bathroom is something that irks me. I mean there are so many illness and diseases that come from simply not washing one's hands!

Unbelievable why so many still do this!

Excellent points, here!

Imagine so many of us having trouble with IBS! I can't go to a fair, or a street celebration and eat food. (One way to stay on a diet!) I hate the porta potties the worse and will not go unless I am desperate. Hey, there is no holding it with IBS!

Do I ever agree with all of you on the public restrooms. I see so many women leave without washing, flushing or wiping the seat and it makes me sick to my stomach. Haven't they been taught the finer things in life?
Not sure what the IBS stands for but my family is trained to let me out when there is need and it is often when traveling. [Big Grin]

You aren't going to believe this one but I swear its the truth. One night in the Sunset casino I heard a girl say to her mother she had to use the restroom and her mother said, "no you do not, you just went and this IBS crap is all in your stupid head, sit there and shut up." The young (maybe 13) girl persisted and again said, "mom, really I'm not kidding." She was wearing a lite orange pair of slacks and matching blouse. Suddenly she jumped up and said, I'm going." Her mother grabbed her arm but before she could say a word the girl WENT!!! All down her pant legs etc. and the area near her cleared as she ran towards the bathroom crying...Sherri was right there is nho holding it when you suffer from IBS and alot of time no warning either. A doctor once told me it was all in my mind, just nerves. Yea right, and one night on the way home from Indiana I had to run off the road and find some bushes...I ever can be anywhere I don't know where the bathroom is...I miss alot of things because of it but its a curse and of course its ALL IN MY MIND. [Mad] Just like the rest of you IBS sufferers. Damn silly-ass doctors..... [Frown]
