You're right. The internet would be the way to go. Whoever owned the site would have to either be too poor to sue or very well insured though cause the liability would be pretty high.

In our state and most others, I think, there is a website that lists doctors disciplined by the Medical Licensure Board. Most of the ones listed have been disciplined for either drug use or having sex with patients and that may or may not reflect competence.
The ins. companies for hospitals and doctors who commit malpractice almost always settle out of court so it is never a public record.
During Ronald Regan's administration information was collected about the morbidity and mortality rates for different diseases in each facility and for different doctors. With that information one could make decent decisions, but George H. Bush dropped the ball and now the information is somewhere, but it is almost impossiible to get.
If we could track it down and publish it on the net along with personal experiences, we could do a lot of good.
Maybe we could lobby for a law to release that info. at the same time we start a website to pass the word on the bad guys and the good ones too.
