Hi My Many Boomer Friends -

It's Nancy Mills. I had to share this. As some of you might know - I've created a blog-centric website. That just means that the "whole" site is based on blog technology.

Well, I've just launched this new program, the Spirited Woman Circle, and I called up this really wonderful young woman to help me spread the word in the bloggers community.

Somehow, someway, I told her that I was 56, and that I was really so very excited that I was in the blog world, since I really do love it and appreciate the new technology.

And she said, "I've met one other elder blogger, and she's terrific." I thought I was going to die.

She then in her kindness, started to spell out the letters in someone elses blog site - really, really slowly, so I would catch all the words.

I thought I was going to die again.

I'm thinking for gosh sakes, I teach the "Spirited Woman" Workshops all over the country about empowerment. Fun. Creative playfulness.

I thought I was going to die.

Any thoughts from any other "elder" bloggers or webbers - maybe we can go to each other's sites - very slowly.

What a kick!

Oh my word. I'm 58 so I'm sure she would consider me prehistoric. What a crack up!

It's pretty funny!!! But of course I'm only 46, so I guess I should respect my elders... [Big Grin] [Razz] [Wink]
I wonder how young this girl was. Maybe you should have asked her if she still had her Barbie dolls!!

When I joined my new fitness club, I was told by the young "babe" behind the counter that the person her trained the "older people" wasn't availbale at the time, I looked at her, gave her a big grin, and informed her I knew I wasn't "that young" anymore, but she didn't need to remind me.
Give me a break, I don't need to be put in a catagory.......or do I?????

I think we should send Bubba and Earl to pay her a visit. Holy Moly...when did we become the "elders?" I still think of my self as young. Course then again, my son came around to my side of the car the other day to help me out. I thought at the time, "how sweet..." Now I realize he probably thought I would fall out on the pavement. Remind me to beat him next time I see him, k?

Elder Blogger? Yuck...it sounds like a new German disease...

The other day, son Sam said, " MOM! I don't want you up there on that ladder, you could fall!!!!" I turned around, eyes - a- blazin' - "I'm 58 not 85, Samuel ! And what do you MEAN you don't WANT me to be ANYWHERE????? When does that happen? That they think they can talk to us in such a way??? As if THEY'RE calling the shots now..Hmpph. That'll be the day!. Well, he shut up pretty quick. (altho it was kinda cute that he was concerned. shhhhhhhh.)

I say, no matter what age we're at, it's the perfect age...cause it's where we're at. (Terrible grammar, I know)

My husband said the same thing the other night (though he didn't call me a lady). My response to him was "Yeah, that's why I hold this extremely high position!!!" [Razz]

That kind of thing happens to me all the time. I draw a webcomic, and evidently the vast majority of comic readers are very young. One time I got a letter that said, "I think it's great that someone like you (translation: old fart) can draw a comic". Another person actually wrote me this: "I hope I'm like you when I get old". I thought, well, gee, thanks, I think. I'm 55. Maybe I'm kidding myself, but I thought that 55 was still middle-aged. Isn't it?

I am inspired by the wit that all of you have. I had not heard about this site and now I feel blessed that I stumbled on to it. Often I would seek the internet to recharge my positive outlook on life when it becomes drained by so much negativity.I can't wait to tell all my friends about it.Look out world, the baby boomers have formed a mighty sisterhood!

Chattylady, you crack me up!

Honey 55 use to be the speed limit, now it's us. Then again, in most places 75 is the speed limit so we are still UNDER it...am I right? Course then again, I AM picking up speed....teehee...

Oh, I love that, jawjaw. It would make a great cartoon. In that case, all we need to do is keep raising the limit, and we're home free!

50 is the new 30, so 55 is the new 35!

If I can figure out how to do it, I'd prefer that whatever age I am is the new 30. Works for me.

What goes around, comes around...to us and to them.
How many times have we been guilty of talking such trash to someone older than us?

Oh yeah. We're all guilty. Laugh it off, we're gonna die anyway, might as well die laughing.

Middle age is 10 years older than I am, and has been since I was 30 or so. Old age is 25 years older than I am. So I'm still young!!
