Here's a poetry contest that sounded rather interesting. Got it from our local writers org.

Woodrow Hall Editions invites submissions for "Postage Due" -- any
topic as long as poems touch in some way on modes of written
communication, e.g. faxes, email, letters in longhand, postcards found
in snowbanks, etc. Poems selected will be published on java jackets
distributed by Michelangelo's & Fair Trade coffee houses or laminated
onto bookmarks given out with purchases by Avol's Bookstore. These
independently-owned businesses are located on and near State Street in
Madison WI. Previously published poems are welcome with mention of
prior credit. Send any number of poems, 14-line maximum including
spaces & title for jackets -- 35-line limit for bookmarks. Send email
address & SASE also. DEADLINE July 31, 2005. Address:
Woodrow Hall Editions
PO Box 259675
Madison, WI 53725-9675

All contributors get copies of their work. Questions: Visit website

Yes, thanks 4 sharing. I will check it out.
Hey, Tvc15,I enjoy our personal contact off the forum. I am glad you enjoy the positive 4wards I send ya! Love being on this long vacation.
It is raining very hard here. Would not surprise me if the power goes out 2day. Lots of flooding.
I enjoyed my writer's conference in Minnesota.
Again, the message is write what you know & don't write 2 get rich! They put me in non-fiction, had 2 get removed right quick! I went 2 fiction, where I wanted 2 be in the 1st place, but I had sent a non-fiction piece in 2 be accepted.
Being right by one of their mmany lakes, I was able to write a few new pieces. The only problem I had was workshop leaders taking the liberty of freedom of speech a bit 2 far, especially when their audience consisted of children for the open 2 the public sessions. I walked out and ones who stayed, wished they had done so also. Stand up 4 what you believe in, ALWAYS!
My class enjoyed giving me feedback 2 my newest children's piece. I just submitted it.
They also enjoyed my poem that I read in front of the whole conference, "So Much Hate."
I got soooooooooo many hugs:)
Hello 2 all my Minn. Boomers. Fantastic people!
I am trying my best to get back there next year 2 the St. Paul/Minn. area.
All my work has been going to publications in this area. WOW! I have never been treated so well, and I have been to a lot of states & countries. I could live there.
Well, I am enjoying my grandson, Dontay, who is visiting me for the Summer. He will get to see me in action when I do a book signing for a Summer children's program, next week. He will be leaving the Big Apple and moving 2 Texas, so Texas will now be my 2nd home, lol. Always wanted a 2nd home.
I hope ALL the Boomers are safe from these heavy storms. Will be back over here b4 the month is over, so Dotsie won't have 2 come hunting me down.
Have a great week, one & all.

Chick, when I wrote what I did, I had not looked out my window, where I write. A big tree has fallen in my backyard, only a few feet away from my house! (Did not hear a thing!) Or did I?
MAN, I did not know when I was praying 4 others concerning the storm, that it had hit right in my OWN backyard. Kinda scary, huh??????????????

Thank you, Chick. I have no reason 2 complain at all. That tree will stay in my backyard a little while, as a reminder of how blessed we are!
The last storm that came b4 this one, knocked my next door neighbor's tree down. It is still in his yard:( I won't let mine stay there.
