My novel that's in production right now is a result of nanowrimo month. I worked a full time job, had a daughter and 3 small kids living with me and she had a miscarriage during that month. I did it, 53,000 words plus. Of course, it's been edited, fleshed out, edited, rewritten, added to, taken away, well you get the picture. My editor told me that for a first time novelist, I had very few editing changes that needed to be made. [Wink]

They're working on the book cover now. Should have the final edit sometime next week.

Sherri, What great follow-up and perserverance you have. My 50,000 words are still sitting there untouched. But it is the sequel to my current novel, and as soon as I get this one to press, I will go back and start fleshing out and editing the nanowrimo opus. I'll look for your novel when it appears. It's interesting how all of us who are self-publishing have chosen different publishers. Tate is a POD, right? Or is it the real deal.

One of the fun things we did during nanowrimo was all gather at a little indie book store once a week. They put up tables to gather around, places to plug in our laptops, and provided chocolates and tea. We all wrote twice as much in those Sunday sessions than we did at home. Fellow-writer energy! Karen

Thanks for all your input regarding this writing in 14 days. Manning makes it clear this time does not include research, editing, etc., just writing. I assume it's more for novelists, etc. However, I don't consider it appropriate for my kind of writing ( Poetry, devos, etc. ).

But your input helped bunches!

Sherri, I'm so glad for you! You've done so much in what seems to me a short time! Congratulations on your novel!
