The birth metaphor is so apt. First, we go through the labor, which may well exceed nine months! Secondly, it is a bittersweet pain to finally let go of our "baby" so that it can enter the world.

I don't know about you but I'm the kind of writer who continues to edit and rewrite things that I've written 10 years ago! So, I had a very hard time knowing when to stop on both my two books. I finally had to say "enough!" and let go of them. Scary but a delicious feeling at the same time.
