Hi Everyone, I'm very excited that my graphic artist, Bob Keck, has finished the cover for my novel. I have it posted on my website. It was my concept but his design, and I think it turned out wonderfully (mostly to HIS credit). Now if I can just get myself to finish the last bit of the editing (day job and doing bargaining for my union and ill Mom have delayed things), I can send off the two finished files and have it in print in 2 weeks. I'm sure the rest of you who have published already have had the thrill of holding your book in your hand...I can't wait. Karen

I love it.
I'm convinced the right cover can sell books, the wrong cover can kill a book. You lucked out.
Congratulations.

Thanks to you all. Yes, Diane, I think I lucked out with my find of my graphic artist (a recommendation from a friend). I didn't want to rely on stock photos and ideas from the publisher. Hope you're right about the right cover selling a book. Karen

Thanks Kelly, Evie, Pam, Katrinka, and chatty lady, I'm just finishing the final edit on the text (typesetting it myself so this is my last chance to get it right). Once they receive the files, it's only a couple of weeks to being ready on demand. I will be able to arrange to sell copies some myself through my website and autograph those (using a shopping cart arrangement). Folks will also have the option to buy from Booksurge.com and from Amazon, etc. I will be sure to post again when it's ready to order. I think I'm getting first night jitters! Karen

Karen,
It's so 3D. I can visualize it as a DVD cover. Who will write your screenplay :-) LOL.
You will feel as though you have given birth once you're able to hold the book in your hands. It is so exciting and you are really approaching D-Day soon.
Keep on trucking. Sigrid

Hi Sigrid, Thanks. Didn't he do a fabulous job. He had a computer program that created the faces...took 24 hours to run to render the male face. And I've already written one screenplay so maybe I should turn the novel into one! Actually, I was thinking of turning the screenplay into my next novel. Karen

How exciting to actually be in the process of seeing your baby being born. I too am in that process, my novel Bitter Water has already gone to the printer. I can hardly wait. It's being printed by Tate Publishing. The cover can be seen on my website, it's my idea, but Sommer found the perfect picture for my idea.
The process seems so long, but worth it in the end.

Sherri and Dianne, Thanks to you two. I can't wait either. I'm ready to go as soon as my copyediting is done. Wanted one more pair of eyes to check the final copy. Now that five months of bargaining on behalf of my union (of mental health workers) is finished--just this afternoon!!--I'm ready to devote all my extra time (when there is some) to getting my novel out. I'll let people preorder as soon as I know the exact date when it will become "live". Karen
