I thought you'd like to know about a new kink in publishing that after pretty nearly a lifetime of exposure to all aspects of writing is new to me. My publisher who handles only poetry predicates their run on pre-sales. They use some kind of magic formula and run only so many more copies than they have sales for before they go to press. Ever heard of that? Well, I find that it is not unusual in the poetry world and that more and more publishers are beginning to do this.

After three books published in a variety of ways, this is my first book of poetry. At any rate, I am hoping that those of you who can think of someone to give a lovely little chapbook to--perhaps with a single rose--could earn points with that someone (like your mother?), make yourselves happy and do me a huge favor.

I am offering a lovely little Belgian embroidered handmade gift to those who order and let me know they did by e-mail (supply an address, of course!) My e-mail is hojonews@aol.com.

Tracings is a little bit nostalgic, a little bit for women, a little bit about the memories of war, and more. You will find an order form for the good old USPS and online ordering information beneath my signature . Beneath that I have pasted a short biography so you'll have an idea that you may like this book for it covers women's issues galore from those boomer years!

I'd love to hear from you!

Best,
Carolyn Howard-Johnson
