Any writers out there ever experienced a writing drought...during a changeover from poetry to prose? I don't seem to be able to write both at the same time...

I write whatever comes to me, and don't necessarily sit down and try to do anything. Certain works coagulate in poetry form and others seem to flow into prose.

My prose, however, is all shorter pieces, essays 300-3000 words. My brain doesn't think "novel."

I write both interchangeably: I can write a few poems and a couple articles, devotionals, etc. in a given day without a problem.

But like Meredith, I don't think "novel" either, at least for now, although I am open to the posibilities down the road and am working on a small project.
