Do what you can to get people who visit your table to leave you their contact information. This way you can keep them posted of other book signings and events you will have in the future.

A good database is worth its weight in gold.

If time permits, send out a press release prior to the event or even call your local paper about the signing. You can also send out a release after the fact.

Good signage is also a plus. Make your table inviting as was suggested in a previous post by offering candy or something enticing.

And smile, smile, smile. You are living the dream that so many would love to.

If you are interested I have an article entitled, "How to Write, Publish and Market a Book with No Out of Pocket Money." Although not about book signings specifically, it addresses a proven way to market and sell your books - back of the room sales.

If you would like it simply email me at kathleen@turningpointpresents.com. Anyone in this group is welcome to it.

Much success.

I am not above strolling through the store beforehand and cordially inviting people, especially when I'm giving a little 'talk' along with the signing. I've gotten good attendance that way.

Great suggestions, ya'll!
