Releasing Times is "a journal of reflections by women in our 50's and 60's." I posted about it last year, and received some great submissions from forum participants. Issues come out every two months, and there are now 4 issues in print, with March 2006 being the latest. There has been a bit of a lull in submissions lately, so this is a great time to submit for the May and July 2006 issues. For a free sample issue, visit the website at www.releasingtimes.com (the special offer on the website is not limited to Utne readers). The emphasis is on personal memoirs, any length from 500 to 5,000 words.

Julie, I remember you being here last year and think you are doing one heck of a job. However, I will tell you that I never heard back from my submission(s), accept or reject, and this kinda made me move on. I'm sure it's just a glitch as you and I had previously swapped several emails. Just fyi...

Keep up the GREAT work!

JJ

Hi Julie,
I'll try to send you something for the May one. Also, I told Renee to check out your site. Just sent her the email. I couldn't believe it when I saw your post.

I just wrote a story about how my dad taught me to buy a car a few years before he passed away. Maybe that one? I'll look over what I've done recently.

Hi Julie,
Glad to hear about other "reflective" opportunities to write my thoughts as a woman in her 50's that has many different experiences to share with others...I currently journal whenever I have the time and hope to submit something to releasingtimes.com for the May issue...

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to write!
