Are they formal, listing accomplishments and contact info only? Humorous? Rambling/ informal? Specifically pertaining to the scope of your article? ("Chickadee raises Rhode Island Reds, most of which never move more than 5' from their feeding area...") Take your cue from what others in the publication do. I have about 3 different blurbs, which I update as needed.
