Dear Boomer friends:

I would like to announce the publication of my new book, D'Amour Road. D'Amour Road is the story of two women in Ottawa who are about to turn 40. One of them goes missing and the other launches a search team to find her in conjunction with the police, her colourful women's collective and a younger man, whom she finds especially captivating. The book explores a number of themes including female friendships, violence against women, wrongful convictions, addiction, cultural biases against aging, and the exquisitely painful phenomenon of unrequited love.

Right now, D'Amour Road is available as an e-book. It should be out in print in another week or so. I had a lot of fun writing this book. Even though the subject sounds heavy, I've introduced humour and neurosis whenever possible :-) You can read more about it on my blog at http://damourroad.blogspot.com/ .

I used to be a big fan of Woody Allen before he became an unfaithful, incestuous old man! Plus, he's not half as funny now as he used to be. Maybe the young girls are wearing him out. LOL.
(I should talk since I am rarely attracted to men my own age.)

I used to be a fan too because I had to laugh at how he brought humor to neurosis. However, I will no longer see/read anything of his because I do not condone his choice to marry his adopted daughter. I've given him more attention by mentioning his name than I ever wanted to. Thanks so much for your encouragement. Yes, it's an incredible feeling. This is my second book in the last two years, and I'm particularly proud of this one.

I will have a link to Lulu on my web site and people can buy the softcover version of the book that way. Right now, I'm avoiding Amazon because for some inexplicable reason, I will have to double the price of the book if I put it on Amazon. It will be available for $14 on Lulu, which I think is very reasonable. However, their shipping fees are steep.

Lynn, I agree completely about Woody. What a sleaze!... I don't think I could go through my story again emotionally. In my hip book, I did touch on the issue of forgiveness but not revenge. It is better for me to continue moving forward and trying to leave that behind. Easier said than done. I know. And thanks for asking
