All of you Boomer ladies who contributed poetry to the "Cosmic Brownies" anthology I helped Sun Rising Poetry Press with - there is now a "pre-order" link on the publisher's website. I'm not entirely clear on WHY they take pre-orders for books other than perhaps trying to get a ballpark of printing needs. ANYWAY, remember as a contributor you will get a FREE copy of the book from them (if you sent me or them your address).

I have to say that I have no "inside" knowledge of when the book will be printed! I'm as in the dark as anyone else....remember I just did the editing for them as a volunteer. I'm hoping it's out before Christmas but who knows. If I get an update I'll share it with you for sure.

No updates from Sun Donna - I too was hoping to give some copies as gifts. The last update on the Sun Rising Poetry Press "news" Board was that they are furiously printing books....and "Brownies" is on the schedule - but they couldn't make any promises about WHEN specifically.

Waiting isn't my strong suit (!!) so just know that there are over forty of us who are in the same boat (contributors to the anthology that is).

I did send them a note the other day to say "Merry Christmas" but haven't heard back - too busy printing books to respond I guess.

Wish I could say "Brownies" will be in your Christmas stocking this year....

Hi, Pam. Don't feel bad. It's not your fault! I'm glad to hear they are printing books. So there are forty of us? I googled some of the names on the site, and we have quite a variety! I'm eager to see the writing from my fellow boomers, too. Thanks for the update!

Thanks Donna......I've been getting a lot of email from contributors and I hate to keep saying "I don't know" when they want to know timing on the release of the book. Yes we had forty contributors INCLUDING (as you know) Maya Angelou. I don't know the details on THAT contribution - it didn't come to me - but not a bad name to have on the list of contributors for a book WE are in - right????

Rhodi, my name was misspelled on that list, too, but Pam assured me it was spelled right in the manuscript. Hopefully that change was made for you, too!

I'd forgotten about this - now you've gotten me eager to see it again!

Hi Sherri.....your name (and many others) doesn't appear on the list but that's not because your poems aren't in the collection. I have double-checked. Rhodi I have sent you a private message regarding your issue so PLEASE respond ASAP!

I'm sorry that the publisher has not listed each and every contributor (over 40 writers) on the website, and if I was in charge there (thank heavens I'm NOT!!!!!) I would either put ALL the names or none of the names - not SOME of the names!!!

Maybe it's a good thing I was just a volunteer for this brand new poetry press - their growing pains have caused me a few pains of my own believe me!!!!!

Ladies - I know it seems like this is NEVER EVER going to really happen ("Cosmic Brownies" getting into print that is) but it REALLY TRULY is. I got an email message from the publisher last night that they had FINALLY received a written release from Maya Angelou's agent to include the poem she herself submitted to the collection. Sun Rising Poetry Press would have printed the collection WITHOUT her poem but really wanted it in there (for obvious reasons) so this is good news.

This wait has been very frustrating for ALL of us who contributed our work to Sun for their various anthologies.....I know that - believe me I do. I do BELIEVE publication and our receipt of our "free" copies as contributors is IMMINENT. Honest I do....really.....truly.....
