This is a great site and I'm excited to have found other writers. I'm the author of a book on domestic violence, published by Hay House, Inc. I also work with battered women in my state, Tennessee. I live just outside of Nashville, the greatest city I've lived in!

Last week, I taped a segment of The Montel Show in New York, which will air in the fall. He did a wonderful job on explaining domestic violence and was very kind to the other guest, a woman who was held captive in her own home for 10 years by her husband. He is now serving 10 years in prison.

If I can ever be of any help to those who are not yet published, please feel free to ask. I believe in spreading the goodness of success! And if you are in the neighborhood, visit my website: www.eadv.net

Have a wonderful day!

Welcome Diane. I used to volunteer at a battered women's shelter. Funny thing, I ended up using one of their advocates myself to finally get an order for protection. You're doing a great thing helping women.

Hi, Dianne. You'll have to fill us in when the date's near! That's a great ministry. And I'd love to 'pick your brain' about publishing, too. *g* Thanks for the information.

Dianne, thanks for all the work you are doing to help our sisters. I applaud you for taking this project under your wing and flying with it.

I once attended a lucheon for The House Of Ruth, a shelter for battered women. The guest speaker, all donned in an executive outfit, looking like a professional woman, began speaking and I never imagined in my wildest dreams that she was the one who had been battered.

She proceeded to tell her story of how trapped she was by her husband. She addressed the guilt, shame, hostility, fear, frustrations, and anguish she experienced day in and day out.

She finally got the guts to call The House OF Ruth and they accepted her with open arms. Thsu began her recovery stage and she has come so far.

Her husband had stripped her of any confidenc or self esteem. Being in the compnay of women at the shelter, ahving to be spoon fed about her self worth, she finally came around.

I bless your ministry because if you save just one person from that torment, your life has stood for something! I'm sure you've saved many women!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome. I love what I do. I'm a very fortunate woman. I'm also a survivor but prefer to be called a thriver now. The word survivor, smacks of victimization and I'm waaay beyond that! My book has opened a lot of doors for me to help more women and it truly was a miracle the way I was published. I'll have to share it some day when I actually have time! [Razz]
