No story for me, I'm just Dian. Whole name is Elizabeth Dian, but mom always called me Dian, and spelled it wihout an "e" at the end, which then went on to haunt me every day of my life. On the first day of school in first grade, when the teacher called the name, Elizabeth Efaw, I hadn't a clue who she was talking about. [Big Grin]

Dian, I went through that. I was Dotsie at home and in the neighborhood, and Dorothea at school!

My "real" name is Michele Anne (one "l" because I was before the Beatles memoriialized it as "Michelle") but my mother liked a song called "Mickey" (no, not the one by that Toni person who sings like a cheerleader, either!) that had a line that went, "Mickey, pretty Mickey, with your hair a raven hue". Well, I was born as white as the driven snow with huge blue eyes and freckles. My parents had picked out Micheal name because they thought they wanted/were getting a boy AND Michel is Micheal in French, so that was it. My middle name is after my aunt/godmother. ANYWHO...I used Mickey until I turned 16 and discovered that an "i" made me seem more like a girl. Of course, at 5'3 and 200 pounds, I guess I wasn't exactly coquettish...but that's ANOTHER story. SO, when I came on here, I just used my nickname, which, like Dotsie, seems a bit silly for someone 56 years old in retrospect. I am Micki here. But, my screen names are (Yahoo) Chessielady21227, (eBay)waterwayschessies, and (MSN Games)mouse1948. The first two are because I am enamored with, own and raise Chesapeake Bay retrievers and I lived in zipcode 21227, and Waterways is my kennel name. The third is because I collect mice (No, silly ladies, not live ones, although I do love them and think they are SO adorable and have upon occasion raised them for reptile food just so I could play with them for a while before they met their demise...). I have kazillions of all types...wood, gold, silver, porcelain, everything. So, there are my stories about my names....the end!

I first used the nickname countrygirl51 when I started chatting online with friends. Most of them were city dwellers, and I grew up on a farm, so I naturally was that "country girl". I liked the name and have used it as a username for several email accounts, in forum groups like this one, and it just stuck. The 51 is the year I was born, and last year it was also my age.

Hi countrygirl. Great to see you posting again.

I know you passed your boards for nursing, but have you switched jobs yet? Please fill is in when you have a chance. Maybe in the professional life forum? [Wink]

Hi all,

Haven't been here in a while. Good to see all the activity. My name arose simply because Lynn is everywhere. Anyway, I am from Vulcan (the town, not the planet) hence the name Spock and 53 is a number pulled from the air. I guess I wish I was that age again. [Big Grin] Everything in Vulcan is geared towards the Star Trek theme which I love especially 'The Next Generation' We have Spock Days in the summer and this year Marina Sirtis (Councillor Deana Troy) joined us to celebrate or Galaxy Fest. We had our first wedding this year at our Space ship between a Klingon and a starship Captain. Every year our tourism rises due to the word of mouth from people who have visited us. We say Live Long and Prosper alot. We also have a lady in town who paints murals and she is fabulous at decorating our buildings. This year she did the outside wall of the pharmacy with all the doctors from the Star Trek series'

That is my story and I am sticking to it.
