Glad to see you back, I figured you were busy as all get out...

AGATE...I think you name, AND your reason for choosing it signifies beauty. I like the visual the poem gave me as well. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Mama J - whazza up w/u?

No, Russia is next month and I'm excited! Keep us in your prayers.

Yeah, it's been busy but not all fun busy. Since the first of April there have been 6 or 8 funerals between our families. Our friend, George, passed away and then the grim reaper started on our families. Thank God we don't have to take a gift to a funeral or we'd be broke!

Thistle, I'm fairly new here but I wanted to let you know that I feel I know you through reading some of your messages, to pass along my condolences and to let you know that I will keep you and your family in my prayers. It must be really tough to have lost so many in such a short time.

My name, newhope, was taken from a prayer group that I joined about 26 years ago. One of the leaders felt the Lord wanted us to be called "People of New Hope," and since joining this group, I've always felt that He has given me lots of hope for our future.

I just have to say what a wonder it is that Dotsie's full name is Dorothea...

Has anyone ever read Middlemarch? (the George Eliot novel).

the heroine's name is Dorothea. The last paragraph reads:

"... the effect of her being on those around her was incalculably diffusive: for the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs."

I think all of us will agree that "things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been" except that we have had the good fortune to meet up with Dotsie.
