Hello everyone! It's nice to be here. It looks like a lot of fun! I found out about the site through the queen herself and I am delighted with what I have seen so far! I am 38 years old, married with no children and I live in Dublin in the Republic of Ireland. To pay the bills, I am an Admissions Administrator in the educational sector and in my real life I am a writer, dog walker and learner! I have been writing on and off for most of my life and have had a few things published in the past. That was a long time ago though and now I think that the fact that I am hurtling towards 40 ignited the spark in me again! I suddenly realised I could be half way, if not more than that, through my life already so I should stop putting off the things I REALLY love to do. For that reason, I am making sure that I write something EVERY day, doing a dog grooming and animal course and I have taken up dog-walking. The dog-walking keeps me fit, earns me extra money to take courses and I get the chance to interact with animals. Sadly, when I married four years ago, we moved into an apartment while we are saving for a house and we are not allowed to have animals here.
I see that a lot of people have websites. I am in the process of teaching myself html to build a site for which I have already bought a domain name. In the meantime, I have thrown a quick page up on yahoo geocities just to get myself into cyberspace. The URL is http://www.geocities.com/claire_hegarty/Scriobhneoir.htm

Welcome Claire,
It is so exciting to have someone from Ireland in here to talk too. I have never travelled abroad myself. I have been limited to travelling within the U.S
I am hoping that once we get our three older children more settled to do some travelling and Ireland is one of the places I would love to see.

I haven't seen the movie but the book is pretty good. Confirms what we already know but tend to forget. Inspirational and touching. I am going to pass it on....

I agree...whoever wrote that book really was full of good solid inspiration and taught me so much! It was one of those movies that I rate right up there with Fried Green Tomatoes, or Steel Magnoilas....you know, classics. I need to buy a copy of it to have so I can watch it again and again.
