Hi all, just caught up to your forum in the wee hours this morning...brought a smile to my face! Finally a site I can relate to. I'm from Canada, run my own business in my home. My days are sooo busy between work, husband, grown daughter & granddaughter living with me, not a second to think some days. You girls brought me my morning laugh! Kelly

Thanks for the welcome girls, but please don't get the idea I've got an exciting life up here in Canada! Anything but. My business is a floor plan business (trust me dull & boring). My family is as crazy as the next. Gotta love them all but living with them can be trying some days:) My pets are my anchors. I've got 3 dashounds that stay withing a 3 foot radius of me 24/7. Writer? Well, I've often thought of it. But doing it is another thing. I've got notebooks filled with half written things that I never seem to be able to find the time or courage to finish. I've always used writing as a way to make it through those days where we all need to run and hide. My daughter is grown & living back at home with me & her a two year old daughter I affectionately call Miss Mia. She's bigger than life and fills a room with her energy. There are lots of things I would like to enjoy if I only had the time...gardening, writing, cooking, how about just sitting still uninterrupted for more than 5 minutes. Oh well, phone is ringing, it's back to work Kira

Good guess jawjaw. My company goes out and measures spaces (commercial or residential) & provides the drawings of what is there now. I kinda fell into this years ago when I worked for this company on a part time basis. My boss moved away and kinda left me to keep the shop going. It's been an interesting ride let me tell you. Running your own business has it's advantages but it does tend to take over your life. I'm still getting familiar with all this site has to offer - what a range of discussions! I'm beginning to realize just how much I have missed having a simple conversation with someone I'm not related to. Working from home really isolates you.

Welcome Kira,
A nicer group of ladies you won't find anywhere else on the net. They are terrific and very supportive.
I also have a daughter and 3 grandchildren living with us, and a 4th on the way. 2 dogs and my wonderful terrific husband who will do what ever he has to do in order for me to find time. I also work 40 hours a week.
Sherri

Welcome, Kelly! Hey, lady, as an unemployed and despairing person out here, measuring floors and such sounds like a pretty decent way to earn a living! Kudos on having your own business, and keep up the good work. Blessings, Lil

Thanks for the welcome again. Sherri - 3 grandkids - you deserve a medal girl! I've only the one and most days I can feel my sanity slipping away piece by piece. I haven't slept one night through in two years. I surfed into this site looking for others in the same boat as I. My sister told me yesterday I was having a mid life crisis! I told her I didn't have time to fit one more thing into my day it would have to wait. Love your sense of humour girls, I'm sure you are just the fix I need to lift me up.

Hi Chatty lady - sorry about the name confusion. I get called so many things, Kira sticks most often. I share your love of animals & couldn't imagine my home without one. My little Haley weighs only 10lbs but rules my house with an iron paw. So far I'm really enjoying reading everyone's past posts...gives me a good idea of who's who.

Welcome Kira!
I'm behind on welcoming all the new people, but wanted to say hi.
Lots of lovely ladies here who are more than just invisible people on the web - good friends.
A floor-plan drawing business, huh? Never knew one existed.
Welcome aboard!

Thanks Meredithbead, I think you are right...so far things look pretty cool. It's the end of another long day here, can't believe how early it gets dark now (and cold here too). I should get myself off to my other duties as gramma.
