Hi Fiftyandfine, I just got back from 2 weeks in northern Quebec (close to the Labrador border). I had to add my Canadian voice to the warm welcome to BWS.

My Mom was born and raised in Newfoundland...she was a Bartlett, niece of Capt Bob Bartlett. She spent winters in St John's and summers in Brigus.

Chick, "leprechaun squaw" is evoking some interesting creative imagery...especially since I've been totally immersed in a combination of oft-times incomprehensible French and Harry Potter for the past two weeks.

But oh, it's SO good to be back home again...btw, we listened to John Denver while driving the incredibly scenic route all along the St Lawrence River...mountains, water, eagles, every shade of green and blue you can imagine. It was profoundly spectacular. It was a rocky mountain high, indeed!
