Hmmm...I'd like to tell y'all how I got to this site at this ungodly hour, but I'm at that age (and it's that hour of the night) where I'm not thinking too straight. What I noticed right away, however, is the presence of a couple of folks that I've enjoyed on other sites, particularly that wild "ja-a-a-wj-a-a-aw" redhead, so I thought I'd spend a little time reading. I've already been laughing so hard that I had diet vanilla coke (my--ahem--one and only vice) spewing from both nostrils THREE times now! Now, there's a 2 a.m. visual for ya! I'm a part-time writer, considering going back into the education field. I'm in Florida--a long 25 minutes from the beach--but safe from the sharks and even the alligators. The screen name is actually a misnomer, or a goal, depending on my mood. I won't be fifty until next spring. By that time I plan to be fully recovered from a few years of health issues, so I hope to be "fine" in that sense of the word. And through diligent lifesyle choices (sounds so much better than diet and exercise, don't cha think?) I hope to also be "fine" once again in the sleazy pickup line sense of the word. You know, "Oooh baby, you so fine..." I'm figuring Prednisone puffiness will be long gone by spring! Other vitals: Married forever, 2 grown kids, 3 grandkids with 1 more on the way. Oh, and since I came to FL by way of Canada and China--long story for later--I'll see what I can do about adding a little spice from north of the Mason-Dixon. (Naturally, I bow to jj as the Queen of southern sass!) Great to be here. Can't wait to get to know everybody.

Welcome, fiftyandfine. Tell us more about your part time writing. 25 minutes away from "any" shark is still not far enough away for me! I agree, diligent lifesyle choices, sounds much better than the D&E word. I am Canadian born but living in Oklahoma. Were you born there or China? What a treat to have you with us. JJ in on "hee ha tis" (hiatus for humorists)for a few days, but you'll hear her coming... She'll make her usual grand entrance and I usually end up doing some chores around the palace. This week I have to spit shine the torch flames? chick

Thanks for the welcome, y'all! Dotsie: More details later, but my China days were job-related. I used to work in international adoption. And I can't wait for that empowering association. I sure could use it after the roller coaster my life has been the last few years. Chick: My part-time writing is a travel column for a magazine. I also do a lot of boring business writing like staff handbooks, OSHA compliance explanations, etc. Had a book published a couple years ago (VERY small targeted market, but at least it was a sellout!) Oh, and I was born in Canada--Newfoundland to be exact. Sure seems like a lot of folks don't even know that "the Rock" is a Canadian province...too often a source of irritation for me Vicki/Terri: I'm west coast too! Where are you? I'm sure the info is on the site, or on your personal sites, but I haven't had time to read much more yet. Again, thanks for the welcome. I'm going to enjoy reading through the rest of this site--just a soon as I can string together more than five minutes of uninterrupted time!!!
