I just want to say hello to everyone...the name is aquamarine, but you may all call me "aqua" for short! [Smile] I am looking to heal myself, and my inner child from the abuse I have suffered repeatedly, throughout my life. Only the strong, SURVIVE...and I am tired of just existing, and muddling in life...I want to LIVE, LOVE, and LAUGH...and just feel like ME, again.

"The first step toward change is awareness, the second step is acceptance."
-Nathaniel Branden

aqua, you've come to the right place. Please stick around. I'm certain there are women here who can encourage you during this time in your life.

Can you tell us a little more about yourself?

sure...I am 45, and basically, I am suffering from "empty pitcher syndrome"~nothing left of myself to offer, and I feel so alone, and feel like a failure even though I KNOW otherwise, and I was diagnosed with severe depression, and anxiety just about 3 years ago...I am engaged for 2 years, and live with my fiance, in Wisconsin. We are both self employed in our respective fields, he is a mechanic, and can do just about anything from farming, to custom fabrication welding...and I have started my own commercial/residential cleaning service 3 months ago...it keeps me busy, and helps pay the bills!
If there's anything else you want to know, just ask!

Welcome Aqua,

This will be a great place to get your "pitcher filled"!

You will find many women here who can relate to what you are going through and what you've been through!

I pray that you find deep healing here!

Welcome Aqua. Since I work with battered women the best advice I can offer is this: Abuse is something we experienced but we never let it define who we are or who we will become.

I'm so happy you've found true love! I also hope you can survive winters in WI. Brrrr.....

Dear Aqua, thank you for giving so much of yourself in your first few posts. I can assure you that you have come to a great place to fill you up with hope and healing. I too was diagnosed with anxiety/depression and I am much recovered. Well, meds help a lot too, as well as friends and faith. You will find that here, too. My birthstone is aquamarine. Such a beautiful image comes to mind with your screen name! Love and Light, Lynn

Wow, all you boomer ladies are AMAZING,to say the least! I'm checking out the site, and I am finding that what I need is all right here...I was searching for a new site to call home, as I got banned 3 days ago from a help/support site for lost/troubled adolesents, by a belligerant fellow 17 yr. old fellow Moderator, so I believe there is a reason I stumbled across this site! AMEN, boomer sisters! [Cool]
