You're doing an amazing amount of work on your house. My epitaph will read: "She almost finished painting her house..." LOL

Meredith, I started a dining room project. Painted the walls chocolate brown. But the ceiling, I could never get myself to finish it! I finally hired a gal to come in and faux paint over everything. I was on a run for a while, going from room to room, painting. Have you tried the tissue paper finishes? Very French looking and fun to do.

Dianne, the tissue paper sounds neat, but is probably too delicate for my ethnic-artgallery-modern decor scheme.

Another warm welcome Daisygirl, I've been reading all about your remodeling and have to admire not only your capability to do all this stuff, but your ability to KNOW you're capable of doing all this stuff. I guess that's half the battle, isn't it!

My house projects sound like a lot of work, but it has taken 2 years to accomplish what I have and I still have a few more to go. I can only go as fast as the money comes in! Plus every other weekend my grandson spends the night and I don't work on projects then. He is my priority.

Dotsie, I think a remodeling forum is a great idea! You know, when I first got divorced I didn't even know I needed to change the oil in my car? I bet there are many women who do not realize what they can accomplish for themselves. Half the battle is knowing I can do it, but the other half is knowing where to find the direction AND to know what I should not attempt. Honestly, some people (men or women) are better off hiring it done.

Dianne, the photographer is William Wegman and I love his work, of course. My Christmas cards are always from him. He said some people think it's wrong for him to dress his dogs up like that, but I'm sure they are well loved and enjoy having a job. If you don't give a Weim a job, he will find one for himself......and it may be your shoes or the drywall. I have a dead tree in my yard because Daisy chewed the bark off when she was a pup.
