Hi Ladies,

I just found your site last night and I am looking forward to participating in the forums. I live in Ohio, single, live with my Weimaraner Daisy, have 1 grown son, 1 grandson, 3 1/2 who I adore, I'm in sales for an office product mfg. I am in the process of remodeling my house, which was a fixer-upper I bought 2 years ago. I'm doing all the work myself, so I am pretty busy.

WElcome Daisygirl!!!! You're going to love it here. This is the coolest place and in no time you'll feel right at home. I'm tickled that another fixer-upper person is onboard. I, too, was single and bought an old WWII war home...spent 2 year doing all the work myself (except plumbing and electrical) so I understand your being busy and what you're facing. What are/will you be doing to your house? What's your favorite thing to do house wise? I LOVE to wallpaper...don't ask me why...most people hate it, but I could wallpaper until the cows come home. And I don't mind painting.
Good for you on being a grandma...sounds like he's at a precious age.
What is a Weimaraner?
Welcome...keep coming back,
Dee

Welcome to the boomer women forum, Daisygirl. Sounds like you got your hands full with a grandson and remodeling your house.

We're getting to the stage as well, we have so many ideas for the house, we need to prioritize them. Can't do them all at once.

Dee, a Weimaraner is a big gray dog with very short hair.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Dee, really the stuff I'm doing I don't enjoy so much, but I really like the outcome. I have laid laminate flooring (after taking up the carpet or old tile), stripped wallpaper and painted, stained the entire exterior of my house, installed all new light fixtures or fans, changed out all my electrical switches and outlets, made window coverings and etc etc. My favorite is making window coverings, decorating, but I won't be able to do that until the major stuff is finished. I'm almost there!

My Weim Daisy is a German hunting dog, she's what they call a versatile dog, she can point, flush and retrieve. She sometimes points in the back yard and also she likes to hunt rabbits, but I ruined her fun by closing off all the entrance holes in the fence. Of course I don't hunt her, she is a very good natured girl.

Thanks again,
Laura

Cute name...Daisygirl. Love that breed of dog. I think you should hire yourself out with the many talents you have! Do you need a wife? I need one! I don't know how you had time to find us with all that you do but I'm sure glad you did.

I learned from a good friend of mine that we can do ANYTHING if we just try. Just this year she installed a skylight - she's 57......... I would not do that! Now I don't do plumbing and I did have to call an electrician once or twice. And most of my projects don't turn out perfect.
