Just wanted to take a moment and introduce a newbie to this forum.....but what a wonderful site! I actually found the site when I was doing some searching for information on depression and found the site discussing Sharon's book "Eagle Born to Fly." I've been struggling with some severe depression for a couple of years now, am in a good program with counselors and a mood disorder doctor. Currently trying to get meds adjusted but hope to get this resolved soon.

I'm living in Vineland, Ontario, Canada but was born in Kentucky (thus, the ky (kentucky) gal as a handle). I moved to Canada about 8 years ago when I married a wonderful Canuck.

Looking forward to meeting others and making new friends here.

Mary

Welcome Mary...it's so good to see your post here this morning. As I mentioned before in our email exchange, my Dad grew up in Vineland, so I have a special fondness for that area of the world!

Your serenity prayer is such a wise one...I'm going to print it off and stick it on my "inspiration wall".

I hope you really enjoy it here, and I look forward to hearing more of your voice and insights.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I can see that I'm going to love it here. I look forward to making all kinds of new friends here.

I'm off to do some grape juice and jelly today....picked Concord grapes at an old neighbor's farm yesterday, so need to get them put up.

Hugs,

Mary

Kygirl, I'm having delicious memory flashbacks at your mention of concord grape jelly! My Dad's favourite...we waited ALL YEAR for those Niagara concord grapes, and when they came out, Dad would buy several baskets of them...one just for himself, one for us kids to share, and the rest to make grape jelly. Except that Mom wasn't the jam-making kind of person. So he had to settle for eating the grapes and using store-bought grape jelly.

Those concord grapes were one of his all-time favourite foods...along with Niagara peaches (which I now wait for all year! And we always specifically look for the Vineland peaches. Mmmm-mmmm, there ain't nothing like Vineland peach juice running down your chin on a hot summer day!)

Welcome. I already saw you in Sharon's forum. I'm tickled that you found us by searching for information about depression. Hopefully/prayerfully we can be instrumental in helping that depression lift a bit.

Eagle, isn't that awesome?

Dotsie, I'm not sure what you're pointing to as awesome...the concord grapes (yes), the Vineland peaches (definitely), Mary's arrival here (absolutely) and/or the fact that she found Boomer by researching depression (phenomenally awesome.)

Yesterday I got an order for a book from a women (who I hope takes me up on my invitation to check us out here) who had read about it in the Greenville, SC newspaper! Now how did an article about my book get in the Greenville newspaper?!!! It's tickling my mind how "Eagle" is spreading wings like that!
