Lynn, when I was 18, my great uncle gave me almost $10K...Our family had money problems, so my parents said I could buy a car for $ 1K (this was 1977!) and they were keeping the rest. My husband (then boyfriend) found me a 1960 Porsche 356B, with 60K miles on it. The original owner was selling it and though it needed welding on the floor (they always do) it was a great deal. My dad said no, the car was too old! I ended up getting a 71 Mazda 808. I hated that car. My husband ended up buying the Porsche, so I at least got to drive it. Many years later, we sold it to a friend so we could get our driveway paved for the kids to ride bikes. Boy, do we regret that!

I have always loved old Vettes! You say you're happy with your Explorer, huh? we've heard people call them exploders, after we bought one for our son. We had so much trouble with it so we sold it. There are a couple for sale here in town...wondering if I should give it another shot. I need to buy something.

Lynne, I'm a car lover too. Have a 1940 Ford Pick Up with a Corvette engine. I call it The Blue Bomb!

When I first search the lots to buy a car, I really wanted a 1969 Opal GT, not in the cards. So, then I went and test drove a Mach Mustang, I would have been happy with that...my dad decided to co-sign for a 1964 Chevy Nova, stick on the column no less. [Roll Eyes]

While married to my first husband I meet his uncle who collected antique cars.
Just so happened he had a 1969 Opal Gt, I cried when he agreed to sell it to me. Solid black with 13 clear coats of black lacquer. [Big Grin]
Called it my "mini-vet". Sold it before moving east...

My next favorite was my 95 Honda Delsol. When my baby graduated I gave it to her. Never had one problem with the car, still running like a top today.

I've found some women who love cars! How nice.
I have a 1993 Explorer and never had a problem with it.
Whoops.....I did run into a tree only two months after I had him, but that wasn't his fault. Hit black ice
Even after having the accident, no problems with Butch.
My youngest had a 2002 Eddie Bauer Explorer and loved it and no problems. She just wanted a new auto, so traded it in.
The '65 Malibu was bought just before I had my first daughter. We took her home in it, and saved it for her to drive when she was older.
Gave it to her on her 16th BD.
She is now 40, and had to sell it because she couldn't afford to fix it up.
Sold it to a guy who's speciality is Malibu's, and he promised me "visitation rights" when he finishes rebuiling her.
Yeh.....I love the oldie cars.
