I've been bouncing around the site, most recently reading jokes... and laughing out loud. My neighbors probably think I'm nuts! (I live alone now that the kiddles have moved on... thank God!)
I'm a widow, for 29 years now, my son is in the Navy for the second time (this time career), and my daughter is in between jobs and hoping the next one comes before her apartment lease AND unemployment run out - both in April. Me, I'm trying to figure out where to put all her stuff in my 1-bedroom apt!

My goal in life is to be able to move everything I own in my car. I've moved at least 15 times and I'm done. No more packing and loading, just put it in the car and go. So far, my little Toyota can hold about 85% of what I have so more has to go...

Merryclicker,

Welcome!

I'm with you...less is more. Everytime we move we get rid of more junk...I love that!

Glad you are feeling at home here - this is a great place to hang out and connect.

d.

Merryclicker, I had reached that time in my life where my car and a small trailer held all my belongings and I loved that. Then it was necessary for me to bring an ill sister to live in my stste so we got a large place and furniture all that stuff I so wanted to stay clear of owning. Sister passed away and I am left with this big place full of everything and anything. I hope one day to be rid of it all again but only time will tell. WELCOME!!! [Big Grin]

I moved three times in five years while my kids were growing up, and it seemed like we acquire more stuff every time we did. When we finally downsized to this place, we got rid of what seemed like more than we took. And we still have boxes we haven't unpacked in 4 years. I'd love it if everything I owned would fir in my car and a small trailer!

Merry, I love your screen name. You must enjoy clicking around the internet, huh?

What a great goal. I still have two kids living at home so I am far from achieiving your goal. I went through a period of getting rid of clutter after I spent a summer with my siblings helping Mom and Dad move from the house where they raised five children. I swore that I would never accumulate all the things they did. Actually, most of it was stuff the kids had left behind. Similar to what you are keeping for your daughter.
