Spent the day geocaching on the Lake Ontario Seaway Trail. That's a long way from where I live. Just got home and see by the Internet that George Jones went to be with the Lord. I was raised on a dairy farm and am a huge country music fan. Naturally, George Jones is an ICON when it comes to this type of music. RIP George!!! Are any of you into country music???

It is Anne. You get to see country and places you'd never see otherwise. Many new housing developments have boardwalks for community residents. You get to see "wild animal" reserves, sanctuaries, forestry, and backroads you'd never see if not geocaching. It's a peaceful, quiet sport. Sometimes you walk for miles and miles, but it's good exercise with a purpose. And it's fun. Tons of fun.

Apparently nobody on here listens to Country Music, hey???

I don't have anything against country music, specifically, Jabber, though it wasn't my genre of choice when I listened to music as a teen.

My clock radio wakes me to oldies, and gets turned off quickly. Beyond that, I guess I just don't listen to music that often. I had to quit listening to music at work ages ago, because my co-workers preferred silence. I've retained that habit. Plus, I don't listen to the radio in the car unless I'm on a long trip. And then I'd probably select an NPR station.

How did you discover geocaching?

I discovered geocaching by buying WB a GPS for Christmas back in 2007. He was trying all the programs and came across geocaching. We took to it immediately and now have over 8,000 finds in the USA and Canada. It's a worldwide sport, enjoyed by millions.

I listen to Country Music in the morning while I'm getting ready for the day and on weekends via RFD TV. But I've had friends over the years who prefer Classical. Actually I like all types of music. IMHO, music is soothing to the soul and a gift from God, as all the arts are.
