Your picture choices are great Edelweiss. I like matching poems with the pictures.

Heres one for the picture of your husband walking on the beach

I noticed a man walking on the beach today,
his step was slow, his hair a silvery grey.

His gazed upon the waters so blue,
as he seemed to be seeking a life anew.

As I passed him by he made me think,
his face held a smile, his eye a sly wink.

Chatty,
I love your sensitivity; and, I love your poetry.

Ed3,
I agree with Chats. Your choice of pictures is very thought
provoking! Thanks! Love your poems, too!

Hand 'n hand we've walked through the years,
The warmth of your smile, calmed my fears.

Love and wisdom lessened the strain,
Of troubles and heartaches and unexpected pain.

All of this world's troubles,
We've been able to meet,
And we'll surely walk hand 'n hand,
Along Heaven's golden streets.

Wonder who said, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"? That's the thought, which entered my head when I read your statement,
Edelweiss3!

I don't have much time right now either. Perhaps after we
get back home, I'll get back in the swing of things, though I really want to work on my manuscripts, too. Oh well; whatever
the spirit moves. 'tis what we'll do! LOL..

When I was SEVENTEEN,
I would hide unseen.

In the garden behind an ivy dead arch,
you could see me there in the month of MARCH.

When spring would come to the Irish Loch,
the meadows be covered with a million SHAMROCK.

So as far as could be seen with the eyes of a teen,
There was mile after mile of heavenly Irish GREEN.

WORDS: Jig, Lepruchan, clover, Ireland

Jig, Lepruchan, clover, Ireland

I found myself close to sleep,
Lying in a clover bed
But then a darting flash of green
Passed not far from my head

Slowly turning to the right
Breath held til near explosion
There I saw it once again
A leprechaun in motion

He saw that I had caught him
So he stopped and did a jig
Shocked and soaked in disbelief
I poked him with a twig

He giggled once; I did twice
Then we both took time to stare
Him as green as Ireland
Me with clover in my hair

Which of us was real, and not
I still can't really say
Years have passed; thoughts gone by
But, I'll ne'er forget that day

NEW WORDS:
post, cramp, stuck, jar

Gims...so great to see you back!

NEW WORDS:
post, cramp, stuck, jar

Strolling along the sandy beach,
With nothing much on my mind;
I spied, washed up, just out of my reach;
A jar; - the marmalade kind.

It was stuck between two driftwood trees,
On a natural sandy sea coast.
I crawled over the trunk, chafing my knees,
Delighted, I saw inside a post.

The lid was sealed as tight as can be.
My fingers cramped till it finally gave in.
Crusted with salt and smelly seeweed,
I unscrewed the scratched up tin.

My hands trembled in excited anticipation,
As I tried to read the sunbleached writing.
I felt keyed up, I felt elation.
The curiosity was painfully biting.

Seagulls above me were crying their song,
As I smoothed out the paper under the sky.
The note, only four lines, - not very long;
Lifted me up, for it was so very wise.

‘I give you leave to do your utmost,
Time is a present, that we all yearn.
You have found me on a sandy coast,
My journey ends, now it’s your turn.’

New Words

Return, time-out, carnival, exuberance
