Doesn't snow here much as it once did,
Snow fell waist high, when I was a kid.

Bitter cold days, are fewer and fewer,
Winters seem easier, to get through, here.

The other three seasons, are awesome and nice,
Would love to have spring'n summer, come 'round twice!

We built a big igloo in our front yard
It was easy to make; the snow was sticky like lard.

It has chambers and rooms, and a tower so high,
It twinkles in the sunlight against the blue blue sky.

Alas the temperature rose, and the snow disappeared.
Still, that igloo stood it’s stand; it was rather weird.

Green grass peeked out between the last patches of snow.
Spiteful, the igloo remained strong against the warm sunny foe.

But the temperature dropped, and it snowed once more,
And now grandchildren proudly guard that ol’ igloo door.

Edelweiss, LOVE that poem really, it was so cute...and jabber, things would be so much nicer if we just had Spring, Summer and Fall to enjoy.

And yes I am looking out for the BWS forum and all my sisters with my "all seeing eyes." Love the color purple!

EW, love your poem, but if we build igloos here, they're most dangerous. One collapsed on one of my son's friend when he was little. The child already had asthma and the weight knocked the wind out of his sails. He couldn't breathe. Fortunately, his dad was out shoveling. My son ran to get him and the dad pulled him out. We are great friends with this family, and my son still jokes that his friend is alive today because he saved his life.

BE CAREFUL.

jabber, I have the same recollections about snow and I'm in MD.

chatty, love the new avatar.

Very good warning, Dotsie. Thanks. My son put a large wide wooden board over the top to give the iglo stability. "A" usually just takes the sled and slides down it. She said it's boring to just go inside and sit. lol

Intelligent words from the mouth of little 'A',
she lets you know she has something to say.

Loves her Grandma and Umpa cause they always play,
whenever she comes over to visit for the day.

In her pretty dress's she likes to swirl,
and in her dark hair she has so much curl,
which makes 'A' a beautiful little girl.

I dare to say she is the apple of your eye,
as you look forward to her next visit, when sweetly she says HI!

Thanks Dotsie, I like it too. It was a big job for JJ to retrieve it, size it, and all the rest of the technical stuff that needed to be done but as always she came through. What would we do without her??? Thanks JJ! I felt naked without an avatar...

A's my kind of gal. Sitting is boring. I'd rather be playing in the snow too.

Chatty, glad Georgia was able to help you.

How cold is it...?

It's so cold, here today,
I'm picturin' tanned faces,
and faraway places,
In which to play!

I stood and watched the fox,
As two crisscross our lawn,
Haven't seen mamma deer,
Or her tiny, little fawn.

Snowmobilers' are darting,
All 'round the park roads,
Rather be in the house,
Than out in the cold.

Ole man winter can leave,
Sooner the better, I say,
Sick of dressin' in layers,
And stayin' couped up all day!
