Is there anything for this?? I find myself getting really bitchy about the dumbist things lately - It reminds me of how I was when I was a teenager - but it depresses me because I loss it over nothing and then fell really guilty- I don't know whether to ask my primary dr. or GYN about it is it the beginning of menopause I am still having normal periods and no hot flashes - but it has gotten to the point where I feel I need help -

It could be the start of a hormonal imbalance with perimenopause.

I would definitely talk to my dr about it. Either one you listed would be okay. Whichever you can get to first.

I can tell you right now that this was my first clue that I was in the lovely stages of perimenopause. My sisters said they would open the back door of my house and throw their hat in first to make sure I didn't shoot anybody. It wasn't pretty. I totally understand. Please talk to your doctor. They CAN help.

Ellie, You are not alone.
I have been going through the same thing lately! I figured it was perimenapause but haven't asked my doctor about it yet.

If this is out of character for you (which I think it is) mention it to your doc. Do you feel the way you use to feel the night before you got your period?

That's why I went on the pill. I was beginning to feel on edge for half the month.

Okay now ladies since I am done with the menopause disaster and am still unruly and bitchy do you suppose its just me? Have nothing to blame it on now especilly since the Slug moved out. Oh my God my son was right I am a cranky witch and guess what, he, he, [Big Grin] I plan to stay this way because no one wilol challenge me and I always get treated with kid gloves, so you see there is a method to my menopause madness, works for me! Ok, gotta give you one of the prime Meredith slogans:

Bitch (noun): a woman who refuses to take sh-- from a bastard.

Yes, it's an original and you may quote me.

Ellie,
I have been bitchy for years. Has been a real interference (nice word) to my life and my poor family. Oh the times I have taken out the rages on my poor husband or child. Simply unnacceptable.

My GYN gave me medication to take around my period. He said it was for the raging type of PMS. That was me. I say was because for other reasons, I moved on to the Pill and did not take the "rage control". Can not comment ont he effectiveness but I know it is out there.

The Pill did not work for me and I am scheduled for a hysterectomy on June 8th. Certainly not because of my bitchiness but for hemorraging during my periods. Today was a doosy! Only 2 more periods to go after this one.

Talk to the doc that you think will understand and respond best.

Lynn
