In the early days of my marriage, I used to tell my ex, 'that's how we eat it in England' everytime I messed it up!! I still have to chuckle about those meals. He took over the cooking, and my present partner loves to cook, so I really lucked out!!

I have this little habit of setting off smoke alarms in our house, because I like to panfry steaks and burgers "well done" on the outside and "pretty rare" on the inside. Even with the stove fan on, the dark thick smoke starts to built up quickly in our small rancher.

As soon as all the alarms start in unison, hubby and I make a beeline to open both the patio door and the front door, so the smoke can dissipate and the LOUD alarms can stop.

It's no wonder the neighbors sometimes look at me funny when I am getting the morning mail. But then again, I wear some pretty crazy outfits on the way to the mailbox, since I don't dress formally unless I am actually going somewhere.

I've been known to wear my hair straight up in the early a.m. like Elsa Lanchester, I have no eyebrows drawn on, and I'm usually wearing a multi-colored, over-sized housecoat with hot pink slippers.

But at least in getting the mail, I am quiet and not surrounded by thick black smoke! hahaha

Would those be bunny slippers (or houseshoes as we call um down South) or ones with Ladybug heads on them, like mine?

Ladybug heads! I'm trying to picture JJ, whose picture shows her all coiffed, made-up, and put-together, wearing ladybug head slippers!! LOL
