You folks' down South have been havin' some of what we generally have, weather wise! We've got snow and plenty of cold. And my bones ache and I refuse to face the fact that they're gettin' old! Yuk, I hate that word!

When young my thinking was bold,
now I'm afraid it's just old.

Use to skip, run and jump,
now can barely step over a stump,
my body feels like a big lump,
which makes me act like a grump.

If only youth wasn't wasted on the young,
our bodies should stay as sharp as our tongue.

The older we are the wiser we are,
but our bodies grow frail and aren't up to par.

I believe it's all backwards, this aging bling,
when we mature is when we should want to dance and sing,
instead of grow slower like some old worn out thing.

Some say any day above ground when old, is a good day,
yea, bet its young folks who say that, what do they know anyway?

The writer who wrote,
That song they sing,
Yesterday, when I was young,
Knew more than, one or two things.

Yesterday, I ran and jumped and played,
I was a nine-year-old,
The one they told,
Straighten-up, when I misbehaved,
I was the one, the others' would scold,
I was the one, acting foolish and bold.

Now they're gone, livin' with the Lord,
Me I'm the age they were then, for sure,
But ain't never lonely,
Ain't never bored,
I've only me, to depend on anymore.

The ones' I love and cherish so dear,
I have their beautiful spirit,
To talk to and hold near.

The door flung open wide and Reeta appeared,
soon to follow her, Rosee pulled up the rear.

We played and we ran all around the place,
I could swear I was seeing a smile on their face.

I got these two Yorkies so small they could hardly be seen,
in just three more days now they will be thirteen.

On one hand so happy for all their happy days,
on the other hand sad knowing things as they are won't stay.

I try not to ponder on the sadness to come,
just love them enjoying their happiness as they run.

I hope there is a doggy heaven where all our pets rest,
if not I will be so lonely not surrounded by Gods best.

Happy Birthday to Reeta and Rosee, praying for many more,
watching them eat their doggy cake from china plates upon the floor...

Reeta and Rosee,
Happy 13th birthday,
Mommy's havin' fun,
Watchin' you eat and play.

Reeta and Rosee,
Enjoy each day,
You're ma's sweet babies,
So we hear her say!

I'm so glad God gave us animals. Life would be awfully boring
without 'em!
