Words: return, time-out, carnival, exuberance
From a carnival atmosphere, I did return, Though sometimes there, Is where I yearn.
Time-out has passed, This spring vacation, Flew bye so fast.
With exuberance, I shall turn my back, On ole cloudy skies 'n a hectic past.
I'll enjoy God's goodness, And ignore the strife, satan attempts to throw into my life.

Words: bright, happy, gabby, swing
You know what’s great about being happy? It’s contagious I found out. I was feeling blue and a bit ‘saddy’ My screen all smeared from my long pout.
I wrote a post, just yada and ‘gabber’, (making up words here) Had no hope or joy in sight, When I got a reply from my dear friend Jabber, She said, “Get out there, where it is bright!
Hit the streets and rock and roll, Take your partner and swing. That will make you strong and whole, shake those blues and sing sing sing!
New Words: Spirits, lift, crazy, people

Decided to continue Edelweiss's poem, hope no one minds.
My SPIRITS were suddenly brightened, my mood took a huge jump, a spectacular LIFT.
My friend Jabber had done me a favor, Her words to me were such a gift.
I just had to stop being lazy, as she told me I was not going CRAZY.
I looked far below me at the dancing PEOPLE, My joy lifted me as high as the church steeple.
So if ever I start to feel sad or blue, dear friend jabber I'll simply think of you.

Words: placed, joint, shelf, pain
I placed a few canned goods, High up on a shelf, And without much effort, I truly hurt myself.
It was my shoulder, That popped out of joint, The pain I felt, Was so severe, There was not a word, To express the point.
Me thinks it's crazy, Maybe even a crime, How the years drain our strength, Along with our time!

soothing, sharper, safari, stray
Armed with my camera I start my safari Not to Africa, but in my backyard Curious to find something of interest Not much a trip for such a die hard
I twist my lense to make the view sharper Then stray 'cross the lawn to the old white gate Not known to me was a snake with a slither Coming behind me, matching my pace
Stopped in the corner to frame a good shot I take my stance, then feel a sensation What was that feeling that gave me a chill? Was it real? Or my imagination?
Soothing my nerves I return to my task Intent and with a photographer's brace What do you think was looking back at me? But, that stupid snake, a grin on its face.

Old words :white what watering chest
There is a chest in my favourite room, That contains all our family heirlooms.
Fine German porcelain and baptism dresses, Old golden wedding bands and what-not necklaces.
It is white with golden renaissance leaves, Adorning each corner along it’s eaves.
The golden latch with the golden key, Sparkle in the sun so very lovely.
While watering my flowers at my window sill, I often stare at the chest, and sometimes I spill.
For just the sight brings me down memory lane, It never gets old, I delight in it again and again.
New words
Hands, pull, save, lasting

Oh EW your poem got my juices flowing again. I just love it. You know there's a treasure box in that chest and I am going to tell you about it. It's a little bittersweet but it has a hidden message we all can learn from.
Gims, love the snake poem.
Hands, pull, save, lasting
The Treasure Box
The pull on the drawer was so loose and so worn As she tugged at the old box inside She pulled off the ribbon, she opened and found Her picture as a young bride
She rubbed her hands, now wrinkled and small And clapped them together with joy As she picked up the hair, that was lying there A lock from her own baby boy
What else did she save she thought to herself Been years since I've added a thing A flicker of gold and a memory told Of her Grandma's old wedding ring
A picture of Joe on a Newspaper page When they gave him a medal for War And a little rosebud from her sister above That she picked out especially for her
She found the old pearls and earrings That Mother had passed down to her She found the old key and remembered Her owning her very first car.
She picked up a card from her father "Oh yes, I remember this save" She saw the old watch from her brother She hoped to one day engrave
She picked up the cork from seventy six Her first bottle of bubbly champagne For 25 years of togetherness When together they planned to remain
For sixty long years she gathered this stuff Not only for her but her King They lived a good life as husband and wife she knew would it be ever lasting
She read the old poem that was glued to the top You'll miss them when they are above So today without fail, let your love prevail Give a hug to that someone you Love
A smile crossed her face that time couldn't erase As she remembered the hugs that they shared So many each day in their own special way That showed them that each other cared
His picture she placed next to hers as his bride For today was a break in their chain She added her treasure and put back the lid And tied up the ribbon again
