If thats the case Dotsie you would probably really be surprised how many of the women here have had work done by me, edits mostly, some suggestive rewriting as well as creative titles, book jackets and reviews. Like I keep saying, I'm a busy lady and considered by many in the business of writing to be an expert in my field. Busy, busy...

Jabber, and Edelweiss, I agree with a time out. But whenever you decide to start up again, count me in!!! This was really fun.

Wish I had more time to do this. It was a ball. I actually miss
doing these poems.

Why not just do one when time allows...

Today was a sunny day,
I wanted to run out and play.

Grabbed my bucket and shovel, headed to the lake,
but not looking ahead I stepped on the rake.

Up flew the rake handle and struck me in the head,
I fell to the ground, you'd have thought me dead.

When I came around the sky was dark,
Ran home and saw the rake made a big red mark.

Climbed into bed as the day was long,
thought it would be a good day, but boy was I wrong...

That was cute chatty. Would be perfect for a children's book.

Good idea, Chatty. Loved the cute poem.

If at the start,
Of any given day,
You find yourself crawlin',
Uphill all the way.

You've lost all hope,
And gained a weakened will,
Rest your weary soul,
And Keep real still.

Soak up some sunshine,
Take a walk in the sand,
You'll find you feel better,
Now get a wiser plan.

When I was just three,
daddy said to me,
I was the cutest girl that I could be.

Then when I was six,
we played pick up sticks,
poor daddy never won, he's sure it was fixed.

When I turned eleven, just four years past seven,
daddy said his little girls new look was heaven.

Then came my sweet sixteen birthday party,
my dad, our family and friends, partied hearty.

By the age of eighteen, I'd fallen in love,
with a boy named Ed, who called me turtle dove.

I was now 21, it was my wedding day,
daddy way sad to be giving me away.

And as we walked slowly up the isle,
his face changed from sad to a happy proud smile.

And when all was said and done,
we knew a new fairy tale had begun.

At 23 I became the proud parent of a little boy,
His grandpa, my daddy, was again filled with joy.

Now grandpa, Ed, his daddy, and little Mark,
Play baseball and go fishing in our neighborhood park.

The circle of life goes round and round,
We live and we grow and the miracles abound.

Can’t sleep again tonight;
Too much wrong, too little right,
Is going through my head right now,
Even at 3 am, an ungodly hour.

My mom is suffering something bad,
To see her this way, makes me terribly sad.
Would do anything to ease her pain,
Ending life like this is so insane.

Why does it have to be this way?
Mother believed in God and prayed.
Why oh why can life be so cruel,
Is there any reason? Is there any rule?

I wish I wish upon a star,
That my sweet dear mom will be soon afar,
Among all those other twinkling lights,
Peacefull, and at rest in heavenly hights.

So if you believe that prayer is heard,
Pray to stop suffering in this world.
Illness, hunger, abuse is everywhere,
When it touches home, all the more we care.

A kind word, a donation, a pat on a hand,
Can warm every heart in every land.
Now it’s my time to tend to Mom’s pain.
I love her so much, it’s driving me insane.

Please God, take her where the flowers grow,
Forever and ever, nobody knows.
Take her and love her just like I do.
You are the father of us all. Please let it be true.

Simply beautiful Edelweiss. It makes my heart hurt for you and your mother. It doesn't seem fair that when we age we don't just sleepily close our eyes one evening and end our days with a smile, painless and restful.

Edelweiss3,
I feel your pain. I just lost a precious friend to a horrible,
horrible death. She suffered so very much. And I have another
friend suffering beyond belief. This second friend is like
a mother to me. She and I have been as close as blood for 40 years. She was a Godly person all that time. And it almost seems
as if God has turned His back on her. And she still prays.
The other day she said, "I pray nearly all the time." This angel cannot walk, eats little, and sleeps seldom. I said all that
to say this: I understand your pain. I pray you and your mom are comforted by The Holy Spirit.

Chatty,
I enjoyed your last poem about the ages, stages. Cute!

I'm too tired to write anything entertaining just now.

Thats the best part about this section, we write what we want when we want to write it. I have been feeling poetic lately, not sure why.

There was once a shaggy little red dog,
who wandered to a farm where they raised a hog.

To the hog, the dog became a friend,
he vowed they'd be together until the end.

They played and frolicked in the hogs mud,
one day the farmer killed the hog with a thud.

The dog ran and ran till he knew he was lost,
he vowed to never eat meat at any cost.

He tried eating flowers, ate some grass too,
but it gave him bad gas and interfered with his poo.

Then one day a little girl caught, and took the dog home,
where he was bathed and through his fur they ran a comb.

They named him Sparky, vowed he'd never be alone,
rang the dinner bell and gave him a big juicy bone.

Sparky wagged his tail happily back and forth,
what he did not know was that he was eating pork.

The farmer took the hog meat to a butcher named Smit,
Sparkys people bought some and happily cooked it.

Sparky had no idea he was eating his hog friend,
well they did say they'd be 'together' till the END!
