A couple of those words were real brain teasers. Okay here we go with the K's

kale, kaleidoscope, kangaroo, kapok

Take to the water well the pale,
I need to wash for dinner, the kale.

It goes well with the meat I'm serving all of you,
a nice yummy slab of broiled, garlic filled kangaroo.

Once dishes are done daughter, the bottom dresser drawer unlock,
gently take from that drawer, and bring me the kapok.

While I work on my pillow shams, though it is hard to cope,
you can sit on the terrace looking into your kaleidoscope.

Holy Hannah. I don't think I wanna eat a kangaroo. They're too
cute. Would rather watch 'em jump around. LOL... Though I do like your poem! Waited for you to list the k's, 'cause my dictionary has kainite, kaiser, kakapo, kakemono and kalanchoe before kale. I'll be back, got to go right now!

Words: kale, kaleidoscope, kangaroo, kapok

Of all the fun things I'd like to be,
Is a baby kangaroo, ridin' momma's tummy.
Think about it, what do you say,
Wouldn't you like a cuddly pouch,
Where you could safely hide away.

Do Australians have any kale to eat,
Does the down under crowd,
Grow what's natural 'n neat.
Could you look 'round and see,
Silk-cotton trees,
For locals to fashion, kapok necessities.

Never been to Australia, it seems,
Cannot brag it's a place I've ever seen,
But now in a kaleidoscope,
Of the constantly changing,
Planning a trip to Mount Kosciusko,
Is what I am aiming!

Good going Chatty and Jabber1 This is fun!

kale, kaleidoscope, kangaroo, kapok

I got to be pretty hungry before I savage,
A kale, or as most folks call it; cabbage.

Mixed with carrots, cauliflower and peas,
A veggie kaleidoscope, may the taste appease.

Gee, Isn’t that kangaroo food?
Just asking, don’t mean to be rude.

To me tastes like kapok; the filling for a mattress,
So please cut kale out of my diet; the better the less!

WOW Jabber, your dictionary and mine are sure different. I wonder why? Oh, maybe because mine are 30 years old. If you want to be the word poster, please go right ahead. You're dictionary must be much newer than my old faithfulls and we don't want to miss any good words.... Anyway we need three L's, so would you or someone else do the honors?

Haven't been in here for a couple days because I had to cowtow
to various obligations.

L words: lab, labefaction, label, labial

That handsome scientist in the chemistry lab,
Stopped my heart, as if I'd been stabbed.

My steps were weakened,
Labefaction set-in,
For I started to totter,
And my face donned a grin.
With the label, drunken woman,
I could've been tagged,
Had anyone seen me,
But don't mean to brag.

Suddenly, my lips labial a pucker,
I wanted his kiss, more than any other.
The research lab was run by a dish,
And that instructor became my biggest wish.

I am so sorry to ask this but I went to the Encarta on my computer to look up the uses for labefaction, labial and with that spelling it says they don't exist. This is the Encarta not my old dictionary! HELP!!!

Hey, thanks, Edelweiss3. Exactly. That's what my dictionary says. It said the first one there, labefaction, could mean to totter, etc. and labial meant to articulate with the lips.

That's where the poem came from. One young man at the nursing home I visit, goes passed me, in his motorized wheelchair, and puckers his lips, pretending to kiss me. That's where the idea came from. I get a kick out this guy. He is tall and handsome. He has MS and it is soooooooo sad! So many of those residents in that county home are young. Please add them to your prayer list, if you would! Luv, gibber, jabber
