Isn't it amazing when someone pulls through for YOU? I'm so impressed that she went to bat for you. How sweet of her since you have boys and girls certainly have a different perspective.

I was surprised too, Dotsie. You can just imagine how surprised hubby was! Of all people, my DIL is trying to save my marriage. Wow,...if that isn't a turn-a-bout.

Edelweiss,

I am so sorry for what you are going through. I have always had a soft spot for the elderly, I don't know why. Maybe it's an attraction to their wisdom.

My dad had shingles in his left eye a few months before he was diagnosed with his lung cancer. What torture it was for him to go through. I remember how stressed he was a couple of weeks before he had the shingles. BTW, the shingles and the cancer had nothing to do with the other. I only mention this because it was sad for him to finally get over it, only to have another illness await him.

Thanks for keeping us posted EW, and take it easy on yourself. I know it's easier said than done, but you'll have to try.

Love and Hugs,
Cathi

EW, I am sorry for all that you are going through. Yet happy that things are getting better between you and him. God can take anything and work through it. smile

Does it ever stop? Life keeps thowing things, wearing us down. I'm glad you found a new doctor... I wouldn't dismiss a suit, tho. There may be some residuals.
Mountain Ash is on the right track, I think. Nutrition... get that immune system up... get off of as many pharmas as possible, without making life miserable for your mom. Clean the body from the inside out. Consider oil of oregano, a natural and potent antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiparasitic oil that can reduce pain and inflammation and effectively fight off infections. Go pure and organic.
Hope she continues to mend.
I've finally accepted that my mom is in a better place, but would love to be able to call her up and talk, even sooth her through an ache or pain... luv 'em while you can - not just words.

Wow, EW. blush
Makes one wonder if DIL is close to her mom/wants to become close to her mom.

Hope you and hubby continue the journey of more positive dialogue.

gims, it's good to hear your voice. I know you're still grieving and I know it hurts. I'm sorry. You lost your mom and dad so close to one another. It must be hard.

EW, praying hubby stays on the path of concern for Mom. What he doesn't yet realize is that you'll love and want him more as he shows more interest in Mom. It only makes your life easier.

I think we can learn a bit from seeing our loved ones having an illness like shingles.Having the chance to network on a forum is a bit like the old communities from a bygone era.
I found out that marigold (calunda) and pepper (capsicim)cream were helpful for shingles..But it was an illness that seemed to run its course whatever and depleted me for a while afterwards.
My choice to attend a naturopath who is world renowned has opened my eyes to alternative health measures.Jan de Vries has written many books and I highly recommend them.
