Jig, Lepruchan, clover, Ireland
I found myself close to sleep, Lying in a clover bed But then a darting flash of green Passed not far from my head
Slowly turning to the right Breath held til near explosion There I saw it once again A leprechaun in motion
He saw that I had caught him So he stopped and did a jig Shocked and soaked in disbelief I poked him with a twig
He giggled once; I did twice Then we both took time to stare Him as green as Ireland Me with clover in my hair
Which of us was real, and not I still can't really say Years have passed; thoughts gone by But, I'll ne'er forget that day

Gims...so great to see you back!
NEW WORDS: post, cramp, stuck, jar
Strolling along the sandy beach, With nothing much on my mind; I spied, washed up, just out of my reach; A jar; - the marmalade kind.
It was stuck between two driftwood trees, On a natural sandy sea coast. I crawled over the trunk, chafing my knees, Delighted, I saw inside a post.
The lid was sealed as tight as can be. My fingers cramped till it finally gave in. Crusted with salt and smelly seeweed, I unscrewed the scratched up tin.
My hands trembled in excited anticipation, As I tried to read the sunbleached writing. I felt keyed up, I felt elation. The curiosity was painfully biting.
Seagulls above me were crying their song, As I smoothed out the paper under the sky. The note, only four lines, - not very long; Lifted me up, for it was so very wise.
‘I give you leave to do your utmost, Time is a present, that we all yearn. You have found me on a sandy coast, My journey ends, now it’s your turn.’
New Words
Return, time-out, carnival, exuberance
