Weak watered down tea is exceptional for watering plants inside and out. MY rose bushes back in Illinois loved tea water.

I gave up on having a matched set of drinking glasses years ago... we have used medium sized pickle jars, along with a few odd sized jars, for years. My DH's hands are big, so he uses quart sized jars - a thirsty tea drinker. I have one nice set that has been in the hutch for years, never used. They will probably end up going to one of our girls, or one of their girls.
Also, I keep a couple of lids handy, for when we have leftover spaghetti sauce or homemade salad dressing. We make pizza with left over sauce, using whole wheat pita bread.

I love pita bread, Gims. What kind of salad dressing do you make? Does anyone use that cloth that is advertised on TV? I can't remember the exact name of it, but it seems like it is something like Shammy or something like that...anybody??? It is suppose to take the place of paper towels....

Its called the WOW-ZOOM or ZOOM WOW, and I don't use that one but do use another just like it. I cut it into smaller rags and it saves me a "small fortune" on paper towels. It really does work.

Here it is...you get 8 of them for $19.95 plus 7.95 shipping. Seems high to me. But I do like the way it works. Only thing is you would be constantly washing it in the washer.

If I had to constantly wash it, the thing would be in the trash bin. It doesn't sound very environmental of me but I do like disposable things so I don't have to do the washing of it.

I do, however, like reusing things. I like all the suggestions, they're inventive and useful.

I use one similar. I think it was put out Mr. Clean. My granddaughter insisted I purchase a package of two when we were shopping at a Big Lots store that was closing its doors. I am so glad I followed her advise. They are wonderful. That was over five months ago and I'm still using the first one I took out of the package, the other still waiting for its first use. I wash mine in the washer every so often, but mostly I just wash it by hand under the faucet with hot water and dish soap. Then I lay it over the sink divider to dry. I also throw it in the dishwasher each time I run it. I trust that it is as good as clean.

JJ, I've eaten so much oil and vinegar dressings, I've gotten tired of them. I don't like 1000 Island, or other sweet dressings, so I resorted to buying Ranch - the Light version. Don't like the taste of it, so I mix 1/3 Ranch dressing to 2/3 thick Salsa (Pace brand has the best taste - I've tried many). I then add 1/4 smashed avocado... making a lo cal, but tasty dressing. I never make an amount for one salad, because I never know if DH is in the mood for it, or not. So, I end up storing the leftover mixture, until I can use it up. It lasts for up to a week, even with the avocado in it. Hey, and it makes the dressing pink --- I won't be putting it on my 'get rid of white foods' list.

I rarely have to throw thjose rags into the washer and use mine constantly for spills, drying dishes, everything. They wash out nicely under the tap and I also use a drop, just a drop of clorox in the water. I think I throw mine in the washer once a week with other towels etc.

Try mixing French dressing with an equal amount of Blue Cheese. Thats really good!

It tastes completely different when mixed Gims. But then I like Blue Cheese.
