jabber, things often slow down a teeny bit here this week due to last minute preparations. I know I post a little less too.

EW, glad to hear your brother has arrived. Praying you have a blessed Christmas with your mom, and all your family.

chatty, I have a friend who is dog/house sitting for a freind. The dog had surgery last week. He chewed open his incision. He now has a big collar around his neck. Meantime, he slid and cut himself on the ice. He's so old and can hardly walk. I feel sorry for her becasue she's missing out on Christmas fun due to taking care of this dog. The family is on a cruise and won't be back until the 23rd. She is so afraid soemthing's going to happen to this dog while they're gone. Ack. To add to the confusion, we got 20 inches of snow so she had to dig herself out there, then go home and do the same. She missed our friend's ornament exchange last night because she was debating on whether or not to take the dog to the emergency vet because of the new cut/open wound. Can pets take over our lives, or what?

Dotsie,
I know things slow down and that's as it should be. I was just lookin' for subjects to rhyme and that's what popped up at the time.

Xena decided a pretty package under the tree looked good enough
to eat. So she started to eat the bow before mom put the
gifts up too high for her attack.

Kids!

Bad Zena, but how cute...

Maybe she thought it had her name on it?

I had to put all the gifts either in closets or on top of the
frig. That nose of her's gets into more stuff. But we love her,
no matter.

The holiday fare is winding down,
thought I'd pop in to see who was around.

My body's even fatter then it was before,
if I don't stop eating RIGHT now, I'll have to widen my doors.

Good to see so many back and posting today,
I always miss you gals when you are away.

One more holiday to celebrate, so give a rounding cheer,
I want to wish you all a very, very HAPPY NEW YEAR.

I join my friend and editor dear,
In wishing each and every boomer,
A happy and healthy New Year!!!

Whether you live far off,
Or somewhere 'round here,
I wish you blessings, much luck,
And a bushel of cheer.

Spent the day in the forum,
tried to follow its decorum.

Now all the posts are January new,
many waiting for words from all of you too.

Now you know why my name seems to be on every post,
I make sure subjects are current and offer us the most.

I hope all are feeling fine in this year of 2010,
it seems we were just here and now we begin again.

It's good to be back and feel the love,
when we gather together like a cockle of doves.

New Beginnings

A lawn sign reads,
In front of a local church,
God brings new beginnings,
And heals thy pain'n hurt.

The new year ushers in,
A fresh segment of time,
Another ten year period,
As church bells chime and chime.

The prayer is now, the downtrodden,
Start livin' for Him and the forgotten,
So on their faces, they'll be wearing,
The biggest grin ever seen or cotton.

God help us amend mistakes of the past,
Help us regain a strong faith, which lasts.

Have you ever noticed when in prison men find faith,
thats all they can find in such a forboding place.

In a four by eight cell, with one window to see,
start reading the bible and pretend then to be.

But when the time comes for their release,
suddenly their believing in God will cease.

Right back out on the streets, drugs, women and guns,
they are all that, that and more, religion they shun.

It always amazes me when locked up; some say they find God,
maybe when growing up their parents shouldn't have spared the rod.

I have found on my own that a smack on ones a//,
is as effective as making sure a kid goes to mass.
NOT!!!

Maybe prayer is a form of talking to our inner being,
To our soul our mind our inner eye that’s seeing,
About things that happen in our lives every day.
We sort through them, and examine what are they trying to say.

Sometimes we ask for help, but it doesn’t matter if it’s heard.
What counts is helping yourself, and dealing with the absurd.
We ask for understanding, and that we understand as well,
It’s good to listen to our thoughts, as good as share and tell.

I believe in being positive, and trying to see the bright side.
I believe positive reaps positive, better then running away and hide.
Yes evil, sickness and pain do thrive on this earth,
But it’s not forever, for these victims too, will find their peaceful hearth.

It may mean only death will liberate those from their pain.
But it is a release, and we do not know what then will reign.
Maybe their chosen souls will rise in a magnificent glory above,
And justice is done with joy, harmony and eternal love.
