Hi Everyone, I'm an NABBW member finally getting around to exploring BWS--how fun! I'm celebrating a new stage in my life after a career as marketing executive (and sometime freelance writer) at a number of consumer magazines and newspapers. Just published my first book, left NYC for the beach, busy with book promo, walking on the beach, going to the theater, traveling, and waiting desperately for spring & summer to start biking on the boardwalk again. I'm divorced and mostly OK being single, no children (have nieces & nephews to dote on) and considering a puppy. Look forward to meeting & chatting with you all. Cheers,

OMG...I think you are living my dream! Beach walking and book promo...what more can a girl want?! All right,...throw in the tanned hunk a hunk author, who just happens to cross your path during a glorious sunrise... sigh.
Welcome to a great bunch of ladies from all around the world. What's your book about? Oh woops...just saw the next post describing your book, Boomerangst, sounds great!

Thanks for the welcome. And I'm still waiting for that tanned hunk to cross my path--if I find one, shall I see if he has a brother?
The book's a little gift book, Boomerangst: Coping with the Angst of Aging with Wit, Wisdom & Humor. A selection of quotations along with my commentary. A recession-friendly gift for the milestone birthdays we're all having...
Are you a writer as well? I'm so curious about everyone else on the site. Guess I have a lot of exploring to do.

I am an unpublished author. And am in the exciting phase of throwing my hands in the air and crying, "Who needs an agent anyway!" ... Self publishing is the next option. I'm an American. My body lives in Germany...my brain has remained in the States. I think your book sounds cool! If I order it, I'll add a comment...I bet many here will do the same. Here's wishing you all the luck in the world that it will be a great hit! Oh yes, ask the hunk if he has a brother. Meanwhile ...what will we do with my hubby? lol..Now you tell me. You're the published author.

HI Judy,
From a former east coast gal, I welcome you! I'm not a writer, per se, but I type a lot! Does that count?
I'm founder of two websites.....see my signature below.

Hey Jude, welcome! My Mom's in Merrick, not too far from you, so I think I visualized the right beach in your intro LOL. I've lived in California since 1980. I'm a poet & essayist, published in a bunch of anthologies & online, including this site No kids, no pets. Married for a million years, give or take, although it feels like more. Plus a full-time jeweler. Links below.

Hi Meredith, Thanks for the welcome.Yes, Merrick's not far from here, but inland--I need my beach! Heading out to your coast in a week or so. San Francisco & Santa Rosa, for an old friend's 60th.
Your jewelry is gorgeous. Haven't had a chance to look at the poems & essays yet, but I will. Lots of talent on this site.
