There were long stretches of time when all the kids saw of him was when he was home long enough to do laundry, cash the pay check and sleep one night. So, it was a good time for them to really see each other in a more like friend than father/son. It's nice to see the closeness between them now. But it definitely was a win-win situation. Sandpiper, My son is an over-the-road, big rig driver, too. He gets home on weekends, though. And he has three teenage girls; so, I'm glad of that. gims, I am so happy that you returned to this site. I doubt if anyone expects you to go back. I've one grandbaby in Italy. They write me a steady stream of letters, though. They're so cute. I'll bet every grandmommy on here grin from ear-to-ear when their grandbabies cross their mind.
