ODE TO THE WOULD-BE MOM
Angel, Oh Angel, What troubles you so? Your expression 'tis sad, and so full of woe.
Burdensome ponderings, darken your mind, Tiny babies need showering, with love, soft'n kind. Don't birth babies and leave 'em alone. Don't have babies and not give 'em a good home.
Parenting 'tis a precious gift, Nurturing influences, how babies will live; Happy childhoods, ignite lives of bliss, Maltreatment, shortens futures and hurts progress, Whether they grow up and live in the slums, Or grow up and live above the below. Make sure love and innocence, is what tiny tots know.

Can’t leave my two poet buddies holding the ship alone. Love the crow poem, Chatty. What an original idea! And Ode to the would be Mom, was wise and very true, Jabber. Okay, what should I write about.? Hmmmm…. ______________________________________________________ Today was a day where I was keenly aware, There is a change, yes a change! It’s in the air! Don’t want to harp on anything negative this time, But lately it wasn’t easy, that’s why I couldn’t rhyme. But now, yes now, I feel lightness in my soul. I’m happy and healthy and am feeling quite whole. Things are looking up with family and friends. Quarrels have appeased; all are making amends. Business is better, and the phone won’t stop ringing My sons are so sweet, and mom’s happily singing. Grandbabies are fine, and our house is so clean I lost a couple of pounds, and I’m even feeling lean. I’m framing, yes framing, this moment in my heart; It’s lifted in song, like from a full breasted lark. With you, yes you, I share my happy little spell. Spreading it like honey on top of your hearts to dwell !

Now thats the way I like to hear our friends feeling, happy and light! Me, I'm working on it...
Lifes Lessons Learned
When I was a small girl living at home, mom and dad protected me, never let me roam alone.
As I grew a bit older, I was given more space, I could come and go with friends to any safe place.
Now that many a year has passed me by, I can go anywhere I want to with no one to ask why?
To be honest with you, I would have to admit, I miss my ever vigilant guardians more than a bit.
Being an adult who can come and go as I please, but not being cautious enough I met up with a sleeze.
When mom and pop met him they shook their heads NO, they said they found him suspicious just looking for dough.
I guess no matter what age we become, our parents are the smarter while we remain dumb.
Today when with mother she says, I told you so, the next man you meet will be better I know.
Little does my mother know, there will be no more man for me, my pets, a successful business, and good friends, are enough of Gods blessings I can honestly guarantee...

After reading Edelweiss3's poem, I began thinking happy thoughts.
What makes me happy, Well, now let's see. Nice weather, really pleases me.
Watching the dog raise a little cain, Brings a smile and a laugh, All animal antics, Make me feel the same. Seeing a smile on others' faces, Warms my heart and brightens blue spaces.
Happiness, 'tis a wonderful state of mind, So grateful Edelweiss, Started me thinking along these lines.

It has to be so nice, when a persons life isn't yucky, when you feel only joy, my-oh my, isn't that just ducky.
I can remember feeling like that, doesn't seem so long ago, I bet I could get there aqgain if only he'd let me go.
I use to want to be wanted, held very close and cherished, but instead I was smothered, and squeezed until I nearly perished.
Although I must admit to you, less and less I feel sad, Now I go my own way and his intrusion just makes me mad.
I go out alot these days with my fun to be around friends, we joke and kid around so much our laughter never ends.
As I gaze into my mirror I can see a change for the better, Eyes bright blue, skin nice a pink, and at work I'm a go getter.
As it was said by sweet Jabber and Edelweiss, life is a state of mind. I have altered my thinking recently so its happiness I now find. Thank you all who have listened to my woe, It has helped me with my resolve, more than you could ever know.

Glad Chatty is feeling happier, I feel a bit lighter, too. Edelweiss has a soul full of song, And I'm delighted, To this cool site, I do belong. So boomers, we're blessed, That to each other we do confess, Whether we're up or we're down, Dotsie's boomer site, Allows us to clown around!

ODE TO THE TURKEY
I come to you now to share my sorrow, I know whats going to happen on the morrow.
My neighbor next door has a high wooden fence, the sound I heard coming from behind it made me quite tense.
I moved nearer and nearer in hopes I could see, that sound that was eerie and upsetting me.
Then low and behold as I peered through the gate, I saw a huge turkey and knew of his fate.
There on a log lay an axe and a bucket, also many rags for the mess as he'd have to muck it.
That young turkey seemed to know there was something amiss, and I'm sure by his actions he was sure of no bliss.
There are just eight more days before that turkeys dead meat, it almost makes me sad enough not to want to eat.
But being human and carnivorious I will sit at the table, and make believe what I'm seeing is merely a fable.
Once the turkey is served, I call dibs on one drumstick, our pants we all loosen while our fingers we lick.
We sit, our heads bowed and thank God for our meal, the only one not smilings the turkey, he got a bad deal...
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
