Mustang,
I'm glad you've found a stable and people both you and Maverick
are happy with. I rode my horse bareback a couple of times; but,
he was so high spirited, I didn't do that often. I love horses, too. Luck and blessings to the two of you!

How long have you had Maverick, Mustang? If you gave that info
somewhere along the line, I missed it. Just curious.

My advice if asked for Mustang would be to STAY PUT...

Sounds like the one trying to get you to come to her stables would give you some of the same kind of grief as with the last place. You and Maverick are comfortable with the people, the stables, and treatment, and when you're not there you know Maverick is okay. Thats so important, so why move?

Cross the road when the weather is warmer and count your blessings right where you are now.

The stable I moved Maverick from had a fire. Not the stable, but the home. I've attached the articles. Albeit the lack of fire hydrants was a major cause to controlling the fire, I find it suspicious. He and his wife have been out of the country in Mexico for two months. They home school their four (4) children. He was/is losing money on his construction business which is registered in his wife's name (women small business owners recive a bit more credits, benefits and funding). This was 5,000 sf home that he built and self-contracted. It just all sounds to fishy to me.

The barns were not affected. Yet, I've not heard anything about the horses that were in the pastures surrounding the house. Those would be the pastures my horse had been assigned.

Remember me saying that he was not providing water to the horses? Ironic, isn't it? I hope and pray the horses are OK.

Update. No horses were hurt. All pets OK. The family had been in Mexico 12/18/08 - 1/18/09. A lady that boards there called me and says the family is devasted. The house burnt down in 3 hours.

The family left for dinner in two separate cars. The husband left after his wife and children. He later joined them at a restaurant. His neighbor saw a fire and called the homeowner's mobile, who did not believe him.

I'm glad the family, horses, and pets are safe. However, I'm still suspicious.

Apparantly the house was paid for (built himself and acting contractor). They are insured. At the moment the fire started either in the kitchen or great room near the fireplace. The patio is outside both the rooms and same length. The patio furniture was untouched.

Could be my imagination, but I'm still suspicious.

Thank God no animals were hurt, as it is usually the innocent who suffer.

Mustang,
One year and four months, hey. That's great. I'm so glad no
animals were hurt in that fire, and the fire does sounds
suspicious. I presume the insurance company will investigate before paying any benefits. I'm baffled at what people get
away with, in this day and age. It's just astounding!

Give Maverick a gentle pat on the side of his neck, for me.
Love...
