Oh I so love to hear these stories and see what others do to lighten the load of themselves and others they meet...exactly why I enjoy collecting the stories to put on my million acts of kindness website! Although, I'll admit, I got a bit worn out trying to keep up with it...people seem to enjoy the stories I've posted (and thanks to those on this list who allowed me to post their stories) and the weekly tips...it is rare, however, that a story is posted. I'm sure I can do a better job at it and will continue to look for ways.

One of the tips I shared with my subscribers was to give a compliment...especially to a stranger. I make it a habit of finding a way to to compliment the checker or bagger or sales clerk or whoever may be taking care of me, or even the person in line behind me (especially those folks juggling the shopping and little ones).

Sometimes I find it challenging, especially when I'm looking at a tattooed, pierced person with "odd color" hair and even "funnier" clothes. One day I wasn't coming up with anything right away (my judgment nerd was on OVERDRIVE!) and finally said to this cute soul..."wow, you have a unique way of combining colors...it shows your bright personality". The girl beamed like a lightbulb...and I was still in integrity...I didn't lie AND I was still able to keep my personal commitment to uplifting.

Even as I walked out the door, laughing at myself for having to "work so hard", I could see the beautiful grin on this person's face. She lit up my entire day with that one smile!

And who knows, maybe her smile lit up the next person's in line!
