Barbers used to be the medics way back when, hence the red and white on barber poles. They pulled teeth plus other stuff - ouch! No anesthesia back then just strong brandy!

Can't even stand the thought: pulling teeth without anestesia.

Candy Cane post was taken from a bookmark. I was so enthralled with the concept, I felt it worthy of sharing. Don't know the
author; don't know if it's fiction or not. But it's cute and
thought others might like it.

MA,
Methinks the punch in the stomach, would reguritate the brandy!

I'm with you, Jabber! Leave my teeth alone unless I'm sedated. and I DON'T think brandy - or even whiskey - would do the trick! Good thing barber's job descriptions have evolved to only involve the hair!

So am I glad the barber's job description has evolved. Don't think WB would get a haircut otherwise.

Heaven Eleven

December 24th is over'n done,
Guests arrived and ate dinner,
But too soon annouced they had to run.

We love family visits, WB and me,
It's such fun chatting, joking'n
hashing o'er old memories.

Now the New Year, soon will appear,
Am believing for good things, ever so dear.

People without visions, doth perish,
What the Good Book says we believe,
Its words, they are so cherished,
And most readily received.

So dream those dreams, as big as the ocean,
And watch your cares disappear,
With every fresh notion,
Your troubles only you can spare.

Happy New Year boomers!

Ventured out into the city today,
to see the crowds of visitors here in Vegas to play.

We are second only on New Years Eve to New York,
where thousands gather at midnight to pop a Champagne cork.

I usually remain home and watch on TV the people party,
crowds smashed in the street like sardines yet still wild and hearty.

Some know no bounds and act like crazy fools,
not caring and gladly breaking our Vegas city rules.

Guess it's the price one pays for living in this destination,
some would stop it tomorrow, say enough, without hesitation.

So better than being grumpy and acting all mad,
Stay home where it's safe, cause the revenue left in our city on New Year Eve makes us glad...

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Chatty,
I'll bet Vegas is an awesome place to celebrate New Year's Eve; and it seems to me that Disney would be another fun destination.
New York City crowds seem overpowering for my tastes.
Regardless,
HAPPY NEW YEAR

HI Jabber,

I've never seriously thought of celebrating New Years Eve at a Disney property, but now that I think about it, I seem to recall that there's some Island at Disney Orlando where they celebrate like it's NYE nightly - ending each night with fireworks.

Steve and I spent an evening there about 20 years ago, and it was fun.

As for me, I am a homebody, and I like to do as Chatty does and spend New Year's Eve at home with friends, maybe turning on the TV to watch the ball drop at midnight.
