lab, labefaction, label, labial
One way to heal and prevent labefaction, Is to clean up this entire nation!
Now you don’t have to turn up your nose, Make labia sounds, and stand on your toes.
I know what I’m saying isn’t a fable, Cleanliness should be on every label.
Washing our hands before every meal, and after the toilet and lab is no big deal.
Just this alone can prevent some awful pest, From those weird viruses which manifest.
So, teach your children to take good care, Clean hands are more important than what they wear.

Thanks a bunch Edelweiss for those definitions. I thought I was losing my mind not being able to find all of Jabbers words.
Yesterday in school they finished building a new lab, So at this science thing I may just take a stab.
It smells pretty gamey from the labefaction inside, With some of those trays carried in, I wouldn't care to colide.
Oops, here comes poor downtrodden Mabel, its her job on each smelly tray, to put a label.
I think I might hurl if I were given that task, I'll put fingers to my labials and just not ask!
Can I do the M's ? These are from my 1978 Websters pocket dictionary, I still use everyday.
ma, ma'am, macabre, macadam

Get this guys, macabe isn't even in my dictionary! My lists, macabre, which means gruesome or ghastly. But I googled macabe...
words: ma, ma'am, macabe, macadam
It's my belief that the title of ma, Is a status deserving respect, And surely many folks give that premise, Real credence, I truly expect.
Well bred people, those more polite than others, Say, "Yes ma'am, no ma'am," when addressing our mothers.
Webster who knows everythin' about all, Explained the ladyfish, macabe, 'tis oceanically enthralled.
And macadam they say, or so I am told, Is used to make pavement, which covers the roads.
This poetic little game all the sudden became, A huge exercise for gleaning some knowledge, It renewed what was left, back in high school, And refreshed what can't be recalled from college!

Want to know why it doesn't list the word MACABE in your dictionary my friend Jabber??? Because that was a ridiculously stupid TYPO I made. The correct word is MACABRE!!!! with the meaning you stated. I certainly give people lots of confidence in me as an editor, don't I, making a dumb typo, geesh...Chatty buries her head in shame

Your poem is cool Jabber, even with the handicap I threw into the mix. Now lets see if I can rhymn the M words's.
When I played with my doll, always wanted to be its ma. Then mother shaved my head, and I looked more like her pa.
She said my hair was too thin and thats not who I am, Head shaving was good, she was the boss, I best say yes ma'am.
With my frail, skinny little body, and no hair to beat, My appearance was macarbe to say the least.
I am much too young to swear or say dam, But I hope my mother, the hair butcher, falls on the macadam.

Dotsie, I'm so happy you're taking the time to read our little works of art. lol Chatty and Jabber, your poems were so clever. And you're right Chatty. I've learned already so many new words. And the fact that we have to use them helps in remembering them. ma, ma'am, macabre, macadamOne of my childhood memories, that I recall, Is a bit macabre, dirty, and all. I was playing on a macadam, that was freshly tarred, Tossing pebbles along the walk; wanted to see how far. Absorbed in my play, I didn’t hear ma call, Especially when I took a step in the black goo, shoe and all. Oh mama was screeching and running my way, Yelling, “Tar isn’t like mud! Stop your play! “Do you want a spanking?” She cried and yanked me out of the stuff. I just smiled, “No thank you ma’am, I've allready had enough!”
