What a shame the way they are treated by society, fed alive to snakes. And 'so-called' science uses them in so many totally unnecessary, and horrific experiments... Once in college, I wrote a piece for my literature class called: SILENT SCREAMS About the life and death of a family of white mice. We once had a mouse in our kitchen...He would sit on top of our toaster in the morning and just stare at us. I swear he stuck his tongue out. We put mouse traps everywhere, full of cheese, salami...the best kind! He would nibble just around the edges, and leave the rest for us. He got so trusting, that after a few weeks, Hubby actually caught him in his bare hands. He carried him out to the fields and let him go. Even if a lady marries some nice guy, he might not like to eat out. Home cookin' is better ya know or so guys say. I treat myself to restaurant luncheons. I used to meet a group of friends once a month somewhere out and about. Those cohorts are no longer able to party; they're either sick or sicker. I still take myself out for lunch, though.
