OK, was in Wally World last night waiting in line at the garden center. The cashier was chatting with the gardent attendant (an older women that could be anyone's spunky grandmother), and a young couple walk up. The young woman (YW) was wearing tight jeans and a denim vest, pierced nose, big earrings, tattos, tanned, exposed belly, died blonde caucasian, and her southern twang that asked the older woman (OW) if she'd seen her mother. The conversation went like this:

OW: Well is she black or white.

YW: She's like me.

OW: What shift does she work? Mornings, nights?

YW: In the middle.

(Now here I had to just laugh b/c if someone had called me at work and asked when to expect the return of an attorney, what would they think if I were to say sometime in the middle of the day? I just had to laugh - guess you had to be there!)

The YW went on to tell the OW how she was engaged and her fiance just returned from Iraq and was using his tax free dollars to buy her a $30K wedding ring. The OW went on to say how they each deserved each other to "make a go at it." (Again, I just had to laugh b/c yep, they really do deserve each other if each is that stupid! Who in these financial times would spend $30K on an engagement ring and what idiot would expect him to do so?!!!!)

I just got a good laugh at the above irony while standing in the Wal-Mart garden center surrounded by the beginings of Christmas!

I just realized you live in S.C. My son and family live there, too. Hubby and I just came home from the Summerville, Ladson, Goose Creek, Charleston area. It's beautiful there. We love Myrtle Beach. Your post about the Walmart Garden Center is funny. And thirty thousand for a ring is nuts, no matter how you look at it. Sometimes people spend huge amounts for jewelry and are afraid to wear the stuff, in fear of it being stolen.

Ha ha...Mustang,,, you just gave me a perfect visual. It was like a movie running infront of my eyes. As for flaunting what the ring costs...Then you can't help wonder what this woman is doing in Walmarkt. heh?
