I received this from a Boomer friend today and it gave me such a giggle...hope it gives ya'll one too!

One for the girls

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my shape to keep.
Please no wrinkles, Please no bags
Please lift my butt before it sags.
Please no age spots, Please no gray
And as for my belly, take it away.
Please keep me healthy, Please keep me young,
And thank you Dear Lord, For all that you've done.

Emphasis on the 'Please keep me healthy... And, thank you Dear Lord, For all that you've done."

This is cute, MamaRed. I seem to remember it from somewhere (email, forum post, ?), but then again, even though memory isn't referenced, I think mine is prayer protected, thus far.

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my shape to keep.
Please no wrinkles, Please no bags
Please lift my butt before it sags.
Please no age spots, Please no gray
And as for my belly, take it away.
Please keep my memory as good as a teen
Both short and long and in between

Please keep me healthy, Please keep me young,
And thank you Dear Lord, For all that you've done.

If only when we are teenagers we realized how soon it would all be just a memory, I think we'd have paid more attention t5o what was happening around us, don't you?

My teenager 'forgot'...and it seems to me it was for a different reason! His was 'cuz he "didn't wanna", mine is because I can't seem to dredge up the memory of what I was even going to pretend I didn't know I was going to do! Giggle....

Anne...you are so right...an overstuffed brain (unfortunately, my mind went to an image of a stuffed pepper..weird, eh?). Lots to remember, lots to do...and when we slow down and take one thing at a time, it is a bit easier eh? Of course, my experience is women are so used to multi-tasking, it seems like we're moving in slow motion when we aren't! I have a friend who completely retrained herself to stop multitasking. It took quite a while 'cuz she grew up with a family of 8 kids and her mom was ALWAYS multitasking!

Cellphone texting while driving or working ought NOT to happen.
Folks are losing their lives because of it. And it seems to me
that the number of drivers talking on phones is increasing instead of decreasing, even though it's against the law in many states. Multi-tasking is one thing but not at the risk of devasting human life. I find this behavior very offensive.

I agree with Chatty's concept, had she known how fast time
flies, she would have paid more attention way back when. It's too bad, we don't get just one lifetime dress rehearsal. [If I'd only known then, what I know now; I'd have done things differently and been less matter-of-fact with the element of time.]

Love the prayer. I can totally relate. Found another age spot the other day. What the heck?

Hey Jabber

I'm not sure which information you're referring to...see, told you I can't remember what I'm supposed to remember (grin). And its so funny to see you write that 'cuz I feel like I'm a lazy bum ...especially since I've been taking so much time out and pulling away from my mastermind groups at a rapid rate so I can get my health back on par! So I thank you!

Grin...she might! And I can just about hear her response, which might sound familiar to many of us "Oh dear, I don't manage it ALL the time, I'm still working on it".

Another age spot, eh? I know what ya mean. I do, I do! Of course my dermotolgist told me of the cure (at least for the existing ones). I could get this fancy schmancy procedure done that takes full anethesia, scrapes an entire layer off my skin, leaves me with "smooth as a baby's bottom" face, and takes 7-10 days to heal from. (And, says he, about midway through I'll be cursing him!). Gee, sounds like something I want to spend $4,000 on.

On the other hand, maybe I do! No, Yes, No, Yes. NO! Hum, I wonder how funny it would look to have a smooth face, wrinkled neck and hands with age spots? Think anyone would notice?

Grin... blush

Hi Jabber!

Ah, that list...thanks for reminding me...grin. Now where was that thread about memory? And yes, those are the things most important to me...and I just about fell on the floor laughing when I saw it. Anyone else out there that feels they never do enough? Boy, I seem to have gotten that gene in spades...and hearts, and flowers...and...

Thank you for the kind words about my health...its weird, I never put a lot of value on my physical health, focusing on my mental and spiritual health and ignoring the physical. Now the physical side is saying "hey, what about me!". I guess I had the story going that if I worked "hard enough" on the other parts, the physical would follow. Now ya see why I like to work with people on their "stories", eh?

Hope you're having an amazing weekend and enjoying yourself!

Mama, I have a friend who did that. It was NO fun, and much worse than she anticipated, but by that point, it was done and all she could do was wait it out and heal. SHe DOES have lovely skin. It looks very rich and moist.

Mind telling us about your old mastermind groups?

Hi Dotsie

I was in 4 different mastermind groups, each with a different focus. I loved them, each for different reasons, and found them a great way to help me keep on track. Knowing someone was going to ask the "did you get xyz" done this week was great, especially since I'm a solopreneur with NSOS (Next Shiny object Syndrome...my version of AD/HD...grin). I find it ever so easy to get off track and do what I love to do best...talk to people. I would much prefer to do that than write marketing materials or pay bills or any of that stuff. The other thing was how much each person brought to the table in terms of their own background and what they were doing with their lives now.

It was interesting to see the differences among the groups...how they were run, who stepped up, who walked away, who tried to demand the most time...all of the typical things with groups.

I know I'll walk back into that structure within the next 3-4 months...once I've gotten my health back on track a bit. And now I *can* work on the primary things (like giving The Passion Test and coaching) that I love to do because I've narrowed my focus.

Is that what you wanted to know or was there something more specific/different? Just let me know!

I never heard of mastermind groups. Are they like corporate
think tanks? Do folks throw out suggestions, and everyone
latch onto whatever appeals?

Hi Jabber

Mastermind groups, if they follow the "formal" model were defined by Napolean Hill in "Think and Grow Rich". The essence is they are like minded people coming together on a regular basis to achieve their individual goals with accountability. So, for example, I might say "I'm going to get my bio written by x date", the group checks to see if I need any help, resources, etc. and then holds me accountable (in a kind way!) to that goal. If, for some reason, I don't make that goal, they check in to see what happened, how they can help, etc.

That is a highlight...so it is more about accountability and support than brainstorming. Make any sense?

Mama, I can't imagine keeping up with four groups. You're amazing. You must have been accomplishing everything under the sun.

I've toyed with this, but haven't found a group yet. My problem is meeting local women (because I wnat to do it locally - face to face)who have internet businesses. That would be my focus.

I've been coached in the past and love the accountability.

humlan, yes, many do it virtually, but I have the need to see people face to face for my work every now and then. That's why I go to local networking groups.

I've been told that I will find more people online to be in a mastermind group about virtual businesses. Makes sense. But I'm still holding out for local Web business owners.

I spoke with the Baltimore Business Journal aobut trying to put soemthing together for us, but didn't get very far. Maybe I should place an ad in their journal seeking Web entrepreneurs. We'll see.

Hi Humlan

Yup, it is something we could do...and the important part, in my opinion, is to find a group with shared goals and approaches so the group gels well, and relatively quickly to get the most benefit.

All my groups were virtual...we met on the telephone and communicated via email. I agree with Dotsie that working in person has some massive benefits!

Being in 4 at the same time taught me a lot...don't know that I was as productive as I could have been. I got caught up in what everyone was doing, coaching them, being their encourager (a role I love and feel very comfortable with) and often neglected my side of the house. Not a wise choice AND I would do things differently now. And, just to make it "funner", I was in two mentoring groups--one with a tactical focus and one with a spiritual/alignment focus. I had it in my stubborn Irish brain that I was going to "kick it up a notch" and do everything...NOW! Grin. Unfortunately, I took on too much and kicked my long suffering adrenals into almost a near collapse, then beat up on myself for not getting enough done. I've regrouped and reorganized and refocused now and am approaching things differently. Good thing and gives me a great way to help coaching clients with the same challenges....

Chatting over the net is time consuming. Since my time
seems so limited, I doubt if it would work for me.
I understand the value of such a group, or in your case,
groups. And I'm glad it was beneficial to you. I can see how other folks keep members moving forward and toward
their intended target. Sounds good. Prayers and blessings,
